Tired Of Being Sore

What is HA?

and if you’ve read the book it would be great to just ask you. So should there be stretching after the workout, before or the stretching of the opposite muscle?

I do stretching of my hamstrings before a workout and I do bridges and plants because I am very quad dominant so I focus on the hams to get them more involved when lifting.

beyond that I don’t really stretch, I do a warm up of a few flights of stairs and then on to lfiting.

What does Thibs suggest?

LOL!, I’m not laughin AT ya Octobergirl. Struck me funny!!

When I say ha it’s my way of laughing, I don’t really laugh in a haha or lol manner so I don’t type it like that. Cool?

In the book part of CT’s overall size building plan(looks nearly the same as HSS-100) he recommends what he calls EQI stretching which stands for extended quasi isometric. He then goes on to explain what that is, but it is the weighted stretching of Parillo and more recently DC fame. It’s explained in great detail as to the why’s, but he employs a heavy loading movement first, then blood gorging movements or superset, then the stretching.

So he’s basically taking what I do(DC) and attacking it through more volume. The key for it to be effective is to be beyond warmed up and more along the lines of fully pumped up. Again though, this is for basically a bodybuilding audience looking for maximum size while calories are adundant and during workout nutrition is maximized.

He recommend large amounts of glutamine and BCAA as well as a glucose and BCAA drink afterwards. His whole principle in that training seems to be to create the most theoretically anabolic environment possible.

I pretty much figured that. It was just kinda cutesy the way she asked. No offense to either of you.

BTW, since I’ve been on a soaring strength burst for some reason the last few weeks, I decided starting with todays leg workout I’d significantly boost the weight, drop the reps from 10 to 6 and add another set for each exercise. It went even better than I anticipated, but did kick my ass. I can just tell I’m gonna be hurtin in a severe way tomorrow. Different stimulus.

Blonde moment on the HA thing. I thought it stood for some training thing. I even made up the maybe words in my head “healing application” “Hyper attenuated” yep… if there is a tunnel I pretty much always look through it.

Thanks for the update on the stretching. It reads as though you are saying to stretch only after you have finished that group of muscles while the muscles are still warm.

Yep, exactly.
