Here’s a tip post in GAL!

Plenty of golden info in this thread from a few years back:

http://www.T-Nation.com/free_online_forum/music_movies_girls_life/la_cali_trip

Every place that people in the thread above have suggested, plus:

-San Diego Gaslamp District
-Six Flags Magic Mountain
-Las Vegas (not that far from cali)
-Tijuana
-beaches in Orange County: Huntington Beach, -Corona Del Mar
-San Diego beaches: Coronado Island, La Jolla, Imperial Beach
-Hollywood
-Disneyland + Downtown Disney (still fun as an adult)
-Universal Studios Hollywood + Citywalk

if you have time for NorCal:
-San Fransisco
-Pismo Beach
-Harris Ranch
-other areas I dont know since im not from NorCal

-Places to Eat: In-n-Out, Cheesecake Factory, Todai, Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles

PS: you WILL be driving alot

pretty much everything you need is right there

if you like baseball catch a Dodgers Game

After landing at LAX, grab a rental car and immediately drive to San Diego or San Francisco.

LA is short for Large Armpit. Smells like one too…

Spoken like someone who couldn’t hack it in L.A.

OP: Train at Gold’s in Venice on a Saturday afternoon. If it’s sunny, it will be packed.

If you like strip clubs, go to 4 Play. It always makes the Top 10 lists of best strip clubs in the country. Thurs-Sat nights are best.

Whatever… I fly there for business frequently.

You can have it Johnny Law; It’s a shithole.

Don’t go to LA, go to San Francisco, such a better city.

If you decide to go to San Francisco stay at Omni Hotel (2008 Trip Advisor, ranked #3 for best luxury hotel in US.), I can hook you up with a great deal, PM for info.

x2 on the In-n-Out (animal fries FTW!) and cheesecake

but stay away from Todai… Blehhhhhhhh

A couple more to add to the list.

Go to the Getty Center in L.A., it’s a truly great museum. My wife and I used to attend often when we lived in Orange County.

Also, I assume you’re renting a car, so I would encourage you to take a drive down Pacific Coast Highway (US 1) and stop in Laguna Beach and walk the boardwalk there.

Both of those options don’t cost a lot of money if you’re on a budget.

Rosco’s Chicken and Waffles!

Here’s my tip:

Avoid MS-13.

Why would you go somewhere that you had to “hack it” for vacation?

Nothing wrong with having pride in your hood, but seriously there are much better places to vacation in Cal than LA. I’ve been there, as well as SD and SF. It wouldn’t be my first choice.

All these SF recommendations are kind of ridiculous, unless you truly enjoy tourist traps crowded with tourists. Sure the scenery and architecture are world-class but that’s about it.

San Diego is one of the best places on Earth, but you wouldn’t need two weeks there either.

On the other hand, two weeks in the greater LA-area (which does include Vegas and San Diego) and you’re just getting started.

Thanks for the reply’s. I will have a rental car waithing me up at the LAX airport.
LV seems to be the 1st stop.
