I mean weak as in not anywhere near record holders. I know I have decent strength levels, but I want to be better dammit! ![]()
And I’ve put breaks on weight gain right now. My training weight is around 145-147 and may lower a little. I’ve had enough of this stubborn fat around my waist! I have no idea what any of my maxes are right now. With not doing any rep PRs it makes it difficult. So if I stick with the plan it will be at least 7-8 more weeks till I go for any rep PRs.
I’m going to assume I’ll be good for around a 2.2x bw beltless squat, 1.65x bench, and 3x deadlift.
I am pretty sure you are a lot leaner than me, Mighty. (I am venturing into fat fuck area, and should stay within the 181 weight class until I recomp quite a bit) And you aren’t weak, you are certainly strong for your weight.
Heck, if you actually did lift those numbers you would total about the same as me because my conventional deadlift has decided to contract the gay.

Still looked pretty lean in your last video.
And I’ve seen your plan for the deadlift. Looks solid to me. I think I’ll be sticking to working both conventional and sumo each time I deadlift. I’m trying to find a comfortable stance for it still.
11/29 - Friday
Treadmill Hill Sprints
20 seconds x 8 at 8 mph / 12 incline
20 seconds rest for each one.
Did this little workout since I didn’t have a hockey game last weekend.
Been doing BPAs almost every night and facepulls/pushdowns a couple times a week. Just don’t log little stuff like that.
Will be using my rehband knee sleeves today for the first time! Got a pair as a birthday present.
12/2 - Monday - Squaaaaattttt C1W3
Used the rehbands for the first time. Knees got pretty sweaty, but they really do feel great when squatting! I’m fairly sore already from the volume of this last workout with 75%. My erectors are even sore which doesn’t really happen unless I do some sort of deadlift. Moving up to 85% next time (215).
LB Squat
185 x 5 x 8 @ 75% with 2 minutes rest
HB Squat - Paused briefly
135 x 10 x 2
Manual Leg Curl on Calf Extension
bw x 5 x 5
Farmer Walks
Conditioning Circuit x 3
ab wheel x 15
jump rope x 100
burpees x 10
push ups x 10
prisoner squats x 10
db swing x 45 x 15
Its time to do another powerlifting meet! Me and my low testosterone will find a way to set some PRs dammit! Seriously though, its been a little over a year since my last meet and I miss it. Will be going to Gilmer, Tx where I lost my powerlifting virginity. Date is January 11th.
http://www.nasa-sports.com/Entry%20Forms/Entry%20Gilmer%20TX%20Open.htm
Will have to shorten the cycle I’m on now quite a bit. After I complete my last 75% bench workout tomorrow, I’ll be doing each exercise only 2 more times until the meet. So instead of just doing 85% work, I will be hitting a few singles with 95% and then getting work in with 85%. Then the last workout I’ll do a rep max so I can know where I stand, and maybe follow that up with some 75% work.
12/5 - Thursday - Bench C1W3
Got my workout in while the storm was coming. I’m actually at work this morning even though my building is shut down. No snow/ice days when you’re a security officer.
CG Bench
145 x 5 x 8 @ 75%
Incline DB Bench
45 x 10 x 2, 17 (rep PR)
1A DB Row
50 x 15 x 3
Pinwheel Curl / Side Raise
25 x 20,15,13 / 12.5 x 15 x 3
Pallof Press
25 x 10 x 3
Treadmill Hill Sprints
20 seconds x 8 at 8 mph / 12 incline
20 seconds rest for each one.
Sprints were tougher than usual. Perhaps because I didn’t get much sleep the night before.
YOU ARE NOT FAT
OR WEAK
JUST WEIRD AND WRONG ABOUT FATNESS AND WEAKNESS

Thank you miss Jenn. I’m getting some of that Canada weather down here! Please take it back to Alberta for me. Seriously though, its terrible and I have to drive to work still. My shocks have taken a beating from the icy roads.
12/9 - Monday - Deadlift C1W4
I had a weird workout today. Was super weak on deadlift. Worked up doing sumo which may have been a mistake. Then when I got stapled with friggin 375, I pulled a couple of very hard singles conventionally. Backed down to 85% and could only do singles with that too. I did just have one of the most stressful weeks of my life having to drive in the ice getting to work multiple times and working overnight as well…and getting t-boned on the way once. My dog and I were not hurt thankfully. I would chalk it up to all that, but I used to be able to pull 440-455 on a good day. And then the conditioning part of the workout felt pretty easy today, quite the opposite of the lifting part…I’ll push it aside and hope I’m not super weak now ![]()
Deadlift
375 x 1 x 2 @ 95% (These felt extremely hard)
335 x 1 x 4 @ 85%
LB Squat
185 x 3 x 5 @ 75%
Front Squat
145 x 5 x 2
Manual Leg Curl
5 x 3
Farmer Walks
Conditioning Circuit x 3
ab wheel x 15
jump rope x 100
burpees x 10
push ups x 10
prisoner squats x 10
db swing x 45 x 15
12/12 - Thursday - Press C1W4
Felt better today. The singles weren’t that taxing.
Press
120 x 1 x 4 @ 95%
110 x 3 x 5 @ 85%
Chin Ups
8,5,4,3,2,1 rest pause
Pull Ups
5,4,3,2,1 rest pause
Dips
25 x 10 x 2
45 x 9
Pinwheel Curls / Side Raises
25 x 20,15,15 / 12.5 x 15 x 3
Pallof Press
25 x 10 x 3
Due to thyroid and testosterone issues, I took a month off from training in July/August and have been slowly increasing intensity since. I did just the required reps with 531 with a light training max for 7 weeks. After that I added the low bar squat and deadlift back in and began doing 75/85% volume work from Beyond 531. I’ve decided now that I’m ready to up the intensity all the way!
I’ll still be weight training 2 days a week, but will be pushing the main lifts VERY hard. Doing 531 I will be pushing the last sets for PRs, do joker sets/singles, and down sets as well.
Sure, my hormone issues may effect my recovery some, but thats why I’m doing 2 days a week. All I know is its time to get stronger! It starts with squats tomorrow.

You shall, Mighty. So, how are those sumo you talked about? ![]()

Do I know you? Lol
I actually used them all the way up to my 375 single last deadlift workout. I switched to conventional because I couldn’t get it up sumo… It was one of the worst deadlifting workouts in history! I had just got done with one of the most stressful weeks in my life, which included lack of sleep and not enough food. So I’ll chalk it up as a bad day.

Who else from Delaware on here do you know who uses the conjugated/westside method?
How’s the hockey season going?

Hey man, thanks for stopping by! Its going very well this season. I just keep forgetting to do hockey game updates like I used too.
We’re in the playoffs right now. When we win Wednesday we’ll play in the championship game Saturday. Gotta start doing my game breakdowns again. Haven’t had a very deep bench lately so I’ve been logging a lot of minutes on the ice! Even scored a pretty goal recently.
How has hockey been treating you lately?

New season started in November. New team is still working on finding a rhythm, but a good group of guys.
Recovering from a set of badly bruised ribs from a incident with the boards. Hopefully I’ll play well tonight.
