Time to Nut up or Shut up

As far as career goes, I think I’ve decided to be a Cytotechnologist. Its a branch in medical laboratory sciences that focuses on identifying cancerous cells and such. Money seems to be pretty decent, and I’ve read you get to be on your feet a lot which is great. Sitting down all day makes me want to put a bullet in my head.
Holy smart person job batman!

How long do you have to go to school for that??

COOOLLLLL, your life will be like CSI only with a hosptial as the setting instead of a crime lab.

Its around the same hours as any Bachelors, but there’s a minimum of 12 months required to train at a cytotechnology school. I already have most of the basics since I have an Associates. But since I work full time I’d probably be cautious and just take a couple classes each semester. I’d guess it would take me around 3-4 years.

That sucks about losing. No one likes it, but half the teams lose every game. Remember that.
That sounds like a really cool job that would take several minutes to explain to me what you actually do. So I will just nod along, smile, and say congrats!

This was my breakaway goal from last night. I think one of the players girlfriend was taking pictures of the playoff games. Pretty cool. Bottom left corner!

Nice goal bro!

The wrastling shoes will be used for their purpose…wrastling the curl bros out of the squat rack. THEN I’ll put my rogues on and do my squats.

Nice!

1/14 - Monday - Press #4

Wore my wrestling shoes for the first time. I’d say I felt slightly more manly than when wearing my five fingers. I do still like them though! Also, I did behind the neck presses for the first time today. Lastly, “Weeds” is a pretty damn funny show.

Press:
45 lb x 10
65 lb x 5
85 lb x 10 x 3

Incline Dumbbell Bench:
25 lb x 10
40 lb x 12
40 lb x 10 x 2

Lat Pulldown:
105 lb x 10 x 4

BTN Press / Dumbbell Curl / Lateral Raise:
50 lb x 12 x 3 / 22.5 lb x 12,12,8 / 7.5 lb x 12,12,8

Face Pull:
50 lb x 20 x 2, 15

1/15 - Tuesday - Deadlift #4

Front squats are still feeling better every week. Used my rogues for the first time and they really made it easy to go ATG comfortably. I’m gonna guess I could have done at least 5 with 165, but I just did a bunch of doubles with a little rest in between.

3" Deficit Deadlift:
135 lb x 5 x 2
185 lb x 3 x 2
205 lb x 2
245 lb x 8 x 3
245 lb x 3 x 3 (with short monster minis. Pretty tough today.)

Front Squat:
95 lb x 5
115 lb x 3
135 lb x 2
165 lb x 2 x 8

Manual Leg Curl(on calf extension):
5 x 4

KB Swing / Jump Rope /Ab Wheel:
50 lb x 20,12,12 / 100 x 3 / 13 x 3

1/17 - Thursday - Bench #4

Trying to find an alternative to the 1a db row since it makes my tendinitis flare up on my left arm. I honestly don’t think there is a replacement, but I experimented with hammer strength rows today. Felt a little awkward but it worked I guess.

Close-Grip Bench:
45 lb x 10 x 2
85 lb x 5
115 lb x 3
125 lb x 2
145 lb x 10 x 3

Close Grip Floor Press:
95 lb x 5
115 lb x 5
135 lb x 5
155 lb x 5
85 lb x 25

Hammer Strength One Arm Row:
57 lb x 12
67 lb x 12
82 lb x 12
92 lb x 12

Lateral Raise:
12.5 lb x 12 x 3

Face Pull / Triceps Pushdown:
60 lb x 15 x 3 / 70 lb x 12,10 x 2

Wrist Curl:
30 lb x 70, 30 (maybe that will help with the tendinitis)

Finished with 15 BW dips.

You like your wrasslin shoes? I love mine. Used em for 5 years.

I like them for the most part so far. They’re kind of a pain to put on though. I have to loosen all the laces. Had to do it though since going from squat shoes to five fingers in the same workout would be to time consuming.

Yeah, I just don’t lace up the ankle part. Saves time.
It also allows a jump off point for as many jokes as you care to make.
“Dude, did you used to wrestle.”
“Yes. Professionally. As my alias EL DIABLO.”

True, I’ve already had one person ask me if I’m a wrestler. Gotten some weird looks for having a couple pairs of shoes too.

Doesn’t that mean, like, a fighting chicken? With the talons??

Hmm…I don’t think I want to be a chicken. Would rather be a dinosaur!

Found out I’m getting a second niece last night. Twin sister was hoping for a boy, but that just means they’ll have at least 3 kids now! I think thats great…less pressure for me to pro-create grandkids. I don’t think anyone will want to have kids with me. I have very strict rules as to how I want my kids nutrition to be, especially for the first few years. Plus, I don’t really want to have the little boogers anyway.

High bar squats in rogues for first time later today! And…DALLAS STARS HOCKEY OPENING NIGHT!!!

Dinosaurs are beast.

Between my older sister and younger brother, there are 6 grandkids. I have ZERO pressure from my mom to have kids. haha! Lovely!

GO STARS!!

Damn straight.

1/19 - Saturday - Squat #4

Squats felt nice with the rogue shoes. Next week I’ll stop doing so many reps per set and leave more in the tank with all my main lifts. I was partly doing that for the conditioning. Off to watch the Stars opener with some friends shortly.

High Bar Squat:
45 lb x 10 x 2
95 lb x 5
135 lb x 3
155 lb x 2
180 lb x 8 x 3
180 lb x 3 x 2 (paused for about 3 seconds)

Good Morning:
85 lb x 10
105 lb x 8
135 lb x 5

Clean Grip Rear Lunge:
70 lb x 20 x 3

KB Swing / Jump Rope / Ab Wheel:
50 lb x 20,12,12 / 100 x 3 / 13 x 3

1/21 - Monday - Press #5

On paper I was suppose to do 8x3 with press, but I went with 6x4 to stay more fresh. I’ll be sticking with 6-5 reps with the press the rest of the cycle. I’ll just be doing fewer sets as the weeks go on. Snatch grip BTN felt nice. Its like doing weighted wall slides. Really felt my scaps working.

Press:
45 lb x 5
45 lb x 5
65 lb x 5
90 lb x 6 x 4

Incline Dumbbell Bench Press:
40 lb x 12 x 3

Lat Pulldown:
90 lb x 15 x 4

Snatch Grip BTN Press / Lateral Raise:
50 lb x 15 x 3 / 10 lb x 10 x 3

Face Pull / Rope Curls:
50 lb x 20,15 x 3 / 70 lb x 10 x 4

Ended with 25 push ups.
