Time to Nut up or Shut up

Yea, I think its pretty clear on the site, but I’m going to shoot the director an email to make sure I’m reading right. If you go to that meet let me know!
Yeah, I’m looking at that one or the one in College Station on the 23rd of February. I just wanna get another meet before I ship out over seas for the rest of the year.

Fairly sure USAPL (I’m CPU, but both are IPF affiliates) allows you to set records at any meet that has THREE national level judges present. Someone else should probably confirm if this is true in USAPL (It is in CPU)

1/5 - Friday - Squat #2

The NASA director emailed me back and it is true…only able to set records at national meets. Its a bummer to me, but it is what it is. Anyway, here I am at home on a Saturday night about to watch Netflix by myself. I’ve got game yo…

High Bar Squat:
45 lb x 10 x 2
95 lb x 5
125 lb x 3
150 lb x 10 x 4

Good Morning:
85 lb x 10
105 lb x 8
135 lb x 5

Clean Grip Rear Lunge:
80 lb x 20
80 lb x 16 x 2

KB Swing / Ab Wheel / Jump Rope:
50 lb x 20 x 3 / 12 x 3 / 100 x 3

those rear lunges and that complex sound horrible in a good way

Hey man. There are worse ways to spend a Saturday night.

Yea, I’m really trying to teach myself to stay more upright when squatting, so I think those lunges are a good thing. That complex can be a real bitch! It really shouldn’t be that hard, but I was slacking on my conditioning before and haven’t had many hockey games lately. One thing I can tell you for sure…if you want a badonkadonk, do KB swings. It was already big before, but we’re talking Beyonce territory now! Yep…I got dat ass!

I suppose so. I was mad when I got in bed and realized I totally forgot about the NFL games on Saturday! I love football! I’ve really got a lot of room for improvement in my life though. I used to be so much more involved and actually contribute to society. I’m 28 now and most of my friends have gotten married and disappeared. I used to be religious and very involved with Church, but the last 4 years I’ve been agnostic. Thats actually probably had the biggest effect on my life. Say what you will about Church, but it really is a fantastic way to make friends and do some fulfilling things.

While I have potential, I’m not contributing my values and “gifts” right now to the world, and I’ve gotta really get that going again. Easier said than done though. I’m just not the same person. My personality is more dull, I don’t laugh nearly as much, I have essentially no libido, and have lost motivation to do anything productive.

It appears as though the NHL lockout is over.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

Wooooooooooooooooo!!!

I’m so happy a carebear could die and I wouldn’t care!

What did you watch on Netflix?!!? Quite an important detail you left out there :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm…I believe I watched some Scrubs and Weeds. I always try to find a movie to watch, but end up getting a headache trying to decide and go back to watching a tv show in my instant que.

Some good work going on here, my agnostic friend.

Im agnostic aswell… was there anything that triggered you to become agnostic? Which shoes did you go for in the end?

There really wasn’t any huge triggers I’d say. I just simply started questioning/researching which led me to what I believe now. I was reading “Mere Christianity” by CS Lewis right before it happened, and ran into a forum which made me think critically about why I believed what I did. Anyway, its been kind of rough since I grew up in the Church my entire life. My family knows I don’t go to church anymore, but they don’t know that I’m agnostic. I’m afraid to tell them that.

1/7 - Monday - Press #3

Almost joined a Metroflex gym yesterday, but decided its just not worth the extra money, drive time, and gas money. Sucks because I know its a great gym. Actually the biggest Metroflex at over 20,000 square feet. Still haven’t done anything about shoes, but if I do it will be either the adidas powerlifts or rogue do-wins.

Press:
45 lb x 10
65 lb x 5
80 lb x 12 x 3

NG Dumbbell Bench Press:
45 lb x 15 x 3

Pull-Up:
7,6,5,4,3,2, 6

Dumbbell Lateral Raise:
10 lb x 15 x 3 (last 5 were slow partials)
7.5 lb x 10 (threw fat gripz on to see what would happen. Was using thumb less grip so it was tough)

Dumbbell Curl:
20 lb x 12, 10, 8

Face Pull:
60 lb x 20 x 2, 15

finished with 25 push ups.

1/8 - Tuesday - Deadlift #3

Watched Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol. A good action flick like any of the other MIs. Was pretty far from failure today. Upgraded from minis to monster minis. Made a pretty big difference. I can tell my front squat has improved a lot, but I’m having trouble getting my left hand comfortable with the clean grip. Its due to my anthropometry. Right hand lines up perpendicular with the bar, but left hand won’t. Oh…what a football game last night right!?..lol

3" Deficit Deadlift:
135 lb x 5 x 2
185 lb x 3 x 2
225 lb x 8 x 3
225 lb x 3 x 3 (with short monster minis)

Front Squat:
95 lb x 5
115 lb x 3
135 lb x 2
155 lb x 3 x 3
135 lb x 8

Manual Leg Curl(on calf machine):
5 x 4

KB Swing / Ab Wheel / Jump Rope:
50 lb x 20 x 3 / 13, 12 x 2 / 100 x 3

AWE BRO!!

Maybe you should eat more red meat to put a lil pep in your step.

I remember when I was like 114lbs and the thought of sex and anything penis related made me want to vomit.
THen I got semi-fat and became horny as ever.

Either way, steak is the answer to everything, maybe.

CHEER UP!

Thank you miss Jenn! That is pretty funny that the thought of sex made you want to vomit considering your state now! I’m not totally sure when the libido thing started to happen. It either happened when I started to lose weight a few years back when I was in the 150s, or because I moved out by myself for the first time and became more lonely. All I know is everything was fine for the first few months, and then it just seemed to slowly go away. I’m eating enough for sure since my weight is holding steady. Maybe I shouldnt do the IF thing(fasting 15-16 hours a day).

Well, I finally got me some shoes. Rogue Do-Wins. I know theres better, but I figure they’ll work fine for a light weight like myself.

1/10 - Thursday - Bench #3

Get my squat shoes on Monday. Everything went pretty well today. Triceps are getting swole yo…

115 lb x 5
135 lb x 5
155 lb x 5

Cable Lateral Raise:
7.5 lb x 15, 10
5 lb x 10

Face Pull / Triceps Pushdown:
70 lb x 15,80 lb x 12 x 2 / 70 lb x 15 x 3

1/11 - Friday - Squat #3

I think I’ve overreached in these 3 weeks of heavy volume. The fact that I don’t feel like my conditioning has really improved is a good sign. Those KB swings are still pretty brutal. I usually can get my conditioning back pretty fast, but it just hasn’t happened. Time for me to wrap up this “accumulation block” or whatever the hell I was doing. I’ll still bump all the weights up next week, but it would probably be wise to tune the volume down considerably to get a bit of a deload. After next week I’ll finally be working with 70%+ on the big three.

In other news I’ve got a playoff hockey game tonight so that should be fun. I’ll see how many penalties I can get!

High Bar Squat:
45 lb x 10 x 2
95 lb x 5
115 lb x 5
135 lb x 3
165 lb x 10 x 4

Good Morning:
85 lb x 10 x 4

Clean Grip Barbell Rear Lunge:
70 lb x 20 x 3

KB Swing / Ab Wheel / Jump Rope:
50 lb x 20 x 3 / 12 x 3 / 100 x 3

“Yeah, I’ve got 2 records. Most time in the penalty box and I’m the only guy to ever take off my skate and try to stab someone with it.”

I love Happy Gilmore! Reminds me of the good ol days when his movies were actually funny.

Had a really disappointing loss last night. We were seeded #2 and played against the #8, who beat us 3-4. They got a couple of trash goals, but in the end we had good opportunities and controlled the puck possession. I got a nice breakaway goal in the 2nd to make it 2-3. Definitely led the team in shots on goal so I was pretty pissed that I couldn’t get anything else past the goalie. There were a couple of little fights but nobody got ejected. I did manage to knock a much bigger guy on his ass when he wouldn’t get the fuck out of my way! Anyway, I felt so out of shape and worn down, probably due to my workouts lately.

As far as career goes, I think I’ve decided to be a Cytotechnologist. Its a branch in medical laboratory sciences that focuses on identifying cancerous cells and such. Money seems to be pretty decent, and I’ve read you get to be on your feet a lot which is great. Sitting down all day makes me want to put a bullet in my head.
