Time to digest and utilise carbs

How long does it take the carbs in your system to be digested and utilised as glycogen for muscles?

Right now i take a P+C 2 hours before training (at around 5.30pm)

I was wondering if that was enough time for it to be put to good use (i eat oeatmeal with whey protein at that time)

If that’s not enough time, would i be wiser to swap my previous P+F for the P+C and have the p+f at 5.30? or would it be better for me to have nothing and train on empty with just sips of my PW shake before, during and after. Im also thinking of cycling Powerdrive with some Epehdrine based stimulant (probably Animal Cuts or Animal stacks or whatever) and they both work best on an empty stomach anyway right?

Thanks for any advice T-Men and T-Vixens!

personalyy I dont even use that much time I have p+c in the form of shake during and right after training. Then the next two meals are p+c to restore my levels. The rest of my meals are p+f.

John Berardi (do a search for “appetite for construction” or just "john berardi"has a lot of articles that might be able to help you out.

It is a good idea to sip on that postworkout shake all throughout and especially after.

Two hours is definitely long enough for the consumed carbs to be readily available as energy. If you are getting your carbs from less complex sources like fruits you can excercise even sooner.

You’ll have to do some experimenation with differing times to get into your carbolic groove as everybody metabolizes differently.

Berardi recommends P+F prior to training.

Ok so please critique this diet:

I usually do cardio in the morning
so I have a P+C of oats and whey should i have a p+F on mornings i dont do cardio or have a P+C?

I have a P+F in the form of a whey shake and flax oils at this time

Lunch:
P+F
Salmon + veggies (max 10g carbs)

Pre Workout (My new version as prescribed)
Chicken breast + veg + Fish Oils

During/Post Workout
Post workout shake

1 hour after Post workout shake (which is also 1 hour before bed time, is this too late to have another P+C)

Have oatmeal + whey protein (and ALA mmayube 1g since it’s before bedtime)

Please advise thanks

btw my evening training is fight training (thai/kickboxing and two mornings a week are dedicated to weight training but towards fights they will be HIIT)

You should really check out Berardis “dont Diet Diet” article. At the time you are working out it is not bad to have p+c befor bed because the carbs are going to be stored in your muscles to regain the depleted glycogen from the work out. Not stored in fat.

i like to keep it simple i have p+f’s all day except during and post workout. all other times i eat p+f.

i’ve read dont diet diet 2 or 3 times, im prolly just a 'tard and dont get it all hehe, it has to be said it’s an awesome diet. I just wanna make sure im doing it right and not waste time

so the above diet looks good then?

it takes a lot longer than two hours for your body to eat, digest, and assimilate carbs into glycogen. Dark assassin you are right on the money with your thoughts have a small amount of carbs at breakfast, p/f meal in meal 2 and some more carbs about 4/5 hours priot to training and p/f meal before training. And keep up the post workout nutrition.
