Genuine suggestions - I actually think you might be glad to have read them. (If you haven’t already.) They’re both fantastic books.

You can justify trying to tear down systems all you want, but the truth of the matter is that more outside assistance into inner cities has done more harm than good. To think that more changes would somehow result in a better outcome is folley.
OR people could just hold themselves accountable for their own actions. The only power anyone has in life is the decisions they make… by blaming others, you give others that power.
I think in some cases this is true, but not always.
I think subsidized housing has made things worse. It seems they make it concentrated to an area, a few years later that area is a ghetto. Even in suburbs, they have built subsidized apartment buildings, and they become notorious for being “ghetto” in short order.
I think it would be better if people moved to where they could afford housing. That might be a third ring suburb or further even. But it would give many people exposure to differing cultures. I think it would reduce gang activity.
Some stuff, like more affluent “outer city” folks that pay higher taxes which subsidize the police force for the “inner city”, I think does help the inner city. I’d even say that something like public transportation has improved “inner cities”.
The elephant in the room is the increase in crime, truancy, and out-of-wedlock births in such places despite 60 years of such assistance.
I made a post about this before.
In summary: inner city black families should genuinely consider moving into small suburb or urban communities. There’s always this notion of racism regarding small town America, but I’ve actually seen exactly the opposite. There’s a reason why black rednecks and white rednecks (rednecks = country boys) are indistinguishable from one another.
Subsidizing things, as you’ve pointed out, often leads to worse outcomes than better ones. This is the problem I have with govt involvement with anything race related.
Stop being a racist
Why is it a grocer’s responsibility to fix the culture running it out of town?
A big reason is that degenerate behavior has become normalized. Spend some time in an inner city school and you’ll witness just how vulgar these kids are.
If we want to figure out the causes, fine, but those who want that probably should think twice as the result will mean we can find the cure. And the cure will run counter to their agenda of destroying western civilization. In a way, we can look at ghettos to see what the end of western civilization will look like.
That’s pretty much an oxymoron.
It takes a village, duh.
Except it is the village burning its resources down.
What happens if the US says “guess what, it’s not 1960 anymore. Not only do you have equal rights, you have preferential college and job treatment in an era where it’s actually seen as the cool thing to do to hire minorities anyways, so we are just going remove affirmative action and let you exist on your own merit.”
Now what? Maybe personal responsibility shows up?
I doubt it.
@BrickHead @anon6371718 What do you think is the solution to the “culture” problem.
Certainly it’s not 2:29. (Please watch that part)
Just to clarify, you two are concerned with how the “culture” affects the environment, people (whatever) and you don’t hate a certain race, right?
Look into very poor predominantly Caucasian areas too (Appalachia, Ozark Mountains, southeast MO). They suffer from all the same problems- lack of strong nuclear families, lack of opportunities, high crime, etc…
The issues are just more profound (or at least “news worthy”) when larger numbers of people are involved in more urban areas.
A good fiction book that highlights a lot of this is “Winter’s Bone”.
Culture and race, while sometimes related, are definitely not synonyms.
Obviously. Very few people actually do.
You really are a one trick pony.
Activism in this country is driven mainly by women. Whether it be about race or gender, it’s all rooted in feminism.
We have known that two parent households lead to better outcomes for children and that goes against feminist ideology. The thing is, we now know that single parent homes in which the parent is the father have similar outcomes to two parent homes. This means that single men do a better job raising kids than single mothers. Single mothers therefore, are the biggest problem in communities where they dominate. The feminists, especially the newest wave of Marxist feminists, which includes the heifers that started BLM, won’t allow things to get better since they cannot accept the reality of the degenerate and undignified lifestyle they embrace.
I actually think I have more protracted experience with the different races, particularly black people, than anyone here. I can explain and prove this (photographs included). And I’m not talking about experience from traveling either, but up-close and personal daily living. I might be wrong though.

Edit: photos didn’t load properly. I’ll have to redo it. And one was obviously of only myself but I was in the so-called inner city.
