Good luck in your meet Eco. What numbers are you looking to hit?
Thank you Ironman.
bench 350,395,405
dead 450,510,525
squat 405,450,495
I feel strong squating but the depth is real shakey. I’m starting at 405 in the squat just to make at least one attempt. If I bench 395 easily I may try 410 or 415.
In case I’m not online again before Saturday.
Good luck in your meet this weekend mate!
Thanks Burnesy
10/6
warm up(jumping jacks included)
squat 135x8,225x5,315x1,405x5,455x2
Video taped myself to check my depth. I think many were deep enough. Felt great. This will either be a great meet or I’ll bomb in the squats and drive over to watch my oldest sons hockey game.

You ain’t gonna bomb… I’ve been watching your numbers, they are damn good!
Now eat big and rest up, Eco. You look ready to go.

It’s going to be a great meet. Your depth will be fine, especially since you went to the trouble of vid’ing it.
Thanks J, geech and skid
I’m getting excited to compete. Haven’t competed in a sporting event in years. Dynamic bench and deadlift to my opener tonight then just stretching the rest of the week.
Just bought Pavel’s ‘Power to the People’ book. Anyone read it? Like it or dislike it?
Good luck at your meet.
Good luck man, you’ll do great.

I liked it. Good program for starting to get in shape or even for concentrating on developing pure power for daily living.
Good damn numbers you’re hitting and shooting for. Enjoy the competition. Ain’t nothing like the feeling you get from going all out.
Good luck at the meet. Since you haven’t competed in years, you might be forgetting the boost you get out there on the competition platform. From looking at the numbers you’ve been putting up, and your openers, there’s no way you will bomb on any of the lifts.
Knock ‘em dead on Saturday, Eco: Get the hall rockin’ with a few jumping jacks and a couple of ass pullups, and you’ll be booked and bound to go.
Thank you all. Sat here and laughed after reading your comments geech. I’ll do my best to represent the over 35 lifters here.
Numbers look great Eco, let us newbies know how things go.
I would say good luck, but it isn’t about luck. Have fun!
The week before a meet is just …well… boring. Nothing to post except I bought some wrestling shoes for deads and got all my stuff together. Ed Coan has a checklist of things to bring to a meet on deepsquater.com.
Have fun and knock 'em dead tomorrow eco!
Go get 'em, buddy!
