I guess my eyes are used to 3D…
So let’s me rephrase it; to those who enjoy ‘enhanced’ fight and action scenes and can bear the often irksome 3D’s effect, go for it.

Surprised there’s been so little mention of Kat Dennings.
That’s because she wasn’t the “hot chick” in this movie. I don’t think I saw her out of her coat through the whole thing and she was dressed like a “researcher” or a hiker so clearly the goal was to downplay any hawtness she may have.
Yeah, it’s funny…I never would have known that the chick with those gigantic beautiful tits in those pictures was the same little research minion from the movie.
She looked “geeky” to me in the movie. I didn’t even see breasts. I assumed she had none.
All I saw was a taser.

Sweet ass movie. Gods beating each other with hammers in outer space is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. The fact that the director/writers/actors were able to make that particular image fit into a movie without it being unbelievably ridiculous is even cooler.
One thing that irked me a lot though is the name “frost giant”. It sounds so stupid…like something you might read in a miserably stupid vanity-published fantasy novel. I cringed every time I heard it. I’m guessing it came straight from the comics or something, but either way…ugh. Other than that, the movie was awesome.
They’ve been “Frost Giants” for half a century.
I wouldn’t have changed it either then. But, the name is still incredibly irritating to me. It adheres to an irksome unwritten formula for terrible, unimaginative, derivative fantasy/sci-fi: overused natural phenomenon/place + overused Lord of the Rings-ish cliche.
How many people would have recognized Jotun?
I like her boobs but her face reminds me Owen Wilsons. lol
Also how bad ass was Idris Elba as Heimdall?
Everytime that dude was on screen he just had such a commanding presence. Was Badass.

Truth. I can see full well why they chose him for that…which flies in the face of those who were bitching about his race on those hate web sites
Whoever did casting did a great fucking job with just about everyone in this movie.
Heimdall needed to be different than the rest the way they portrayed him and his powers.

stringer bell is always a badass.
I found Loki was massively underplayed. I haven’t read much into actual Thor fiction but I feel the movie portrayal of Loki wasn’t nearly as mischievous, intelligent, intimidating or generally unnerving as it should be.

The strength that guy had reminded me of you. I thought for a moment "if I ever met Professor X, he would be like this guy…plus +100 lbs)
I just yelled at my wife “I require sustenance!” Hey, at least I’m not breakin’ the coffee mug!!

In the original Norse mythology the gods and giants were at war . . so that dates back about 800 years or so. Frost giants were known as Jottun and played a significant role in the cosmology. In fact, the first frost giant Ymir was also the creator of mankind.
While it may seem like an overused concept to a 21st century human, in this case I’d have to argue that the inclusion of frost giants into the comics and movie is both authentic and warranted.
I saw it a second time today and have come to the conclusion why mr Thor looks pretty beastly.
I think its because if he was 5’9" he would be 200-210 lean which is a decently impressive physique. But cause the guy is 6’3" he just looks so much bigger then if he were 5’9".
Im i rite or wrong guys?

I always thought Clay Matthews jr fit the roll of Thor perfectly

one more with helmet on to get the Thor look goin

LOL!
By the way, get a fuckin’ haircut.
Great movie. I completely agree with what everyone said about Loki though, he seemed more like a whiny toddler than one of the most fearsome characters in the Marvel Universe. Hopefully he’ll become more menacing if/when he comes back from the “dead” (as comic book characters seem to do just about every other weekend).
One thing mentioned earlier about the “Steroids!” line. To me, it was used more for comic effect, so I didn’t mind it too much. And as far as steroids in the Captain America movie, I actually hope they’ll be used. For one, steroids were what actually produced the change in Captain America in the comics.
And two, it’ll be nice for a character to use steroids to go do some good in the world for once, as opposed to just being portrayed as a dumb hooligan who goes off his rocker and puts a fist through a wall when someone blinks at him the wrong way.

Agreed. The steroids line in Thor was just a throw-away one-liner. Nothing to get worked up over.

I would have preferred Jotun, though they did say it a few times in the movie. Being familiar with Norse mythology and not the comic made my experience slightly less enjoyable.
No.1 movie at the box office. Fuck all you nay sayers and haters.
Woo hoo!
