Thank God… done!

This counts as something I’ve made right?

My very first web app (this is just the presentation page, the app itself isn’t online yet)
Completely redid my backyard this year. Had to put in a curtain drain to deal with water, then built a shed, pergola (photo) and play structure (photo). Then redid sprinklers and placed sod and bark.
ignore the inflatable pool, ha.
Wow! That looks really nice.
[disclaimer: completely uninteresting post ahead to anyone who doesn’t study or like computer science]
I made, as a personal project, an Assembly interpreter using JS. This script takes asm instructions and executes their semantic using javascript. There are still a few bugs around, but I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved over around 3-4 days of work on this.

Anyone that knows assembly try it and lemme know how it looks!
To see it in action with a sample program, copy and paste this:
movi 3, r10
movi 10, r11
inc r9
loop: mul r10, r9, r8
store r0, r9, r8
inc r9
if<= r9, r11, loop
then hit Compile, then Run. This small sample program calculates 3’s multiplication table and saves the result to memory. Asm can of course be used to do more complicated stuff as well.
I finally get to post this. I’ve been working on this over the summer. I had so many ideas and so little momentum.
I finished my dining room buffet. I wanted a piece that fits the scale of our narrow rooms. I’ve been thinking about building this for a few years.
The finishing touch are the very cool feet fashioned from railway spikes made by my brother on his forge. This is the second set of table legs my brother has done for me and they look awesome.
Definitely awesome.
Thanks. He has learned black smithing and built his own forge.
I really like the stuff you make. Very clean, crisp style, fit, and finish.
Thanks. I don’t like a lot of Victorian looking fussiness.
The whole thing is awesome.
That’s correct. I have them on all the rads in my house. It creates a bit of extra space.
My wife has done similar things with some of the radiators in our house … definitely enjoy the added shelf/storage space
You dont need the space probably, but that would be a cool visual effect for a table.
The vertical fins or integrated into a door, and in wood would be fine.
We dont have those in my part of Texas, but had them in elementary school 50+ years ago…sigh.
Most of the old houses in my neighbourhood have radiant heat. I thought it would be a lot more effective than forced air. I was wrong. Heating and cooling is like turning a battleship; reaction time is very slow. When we got our house insurance, I had to go into a long explanation with some young man about what radiators are. I was a bit non-plussed that he had no idea.
Assembled this on Saturday. I’m so very not handy so the fact that this works and hasn’t fallen on me so far is something I’m proud of ![]()

Been thinking a device like this too.
What price range did you find on nicer quality models - since l know cheap stuff couldnt hold up to your requirements?
PS @ouroboro_s turn your ceiling fans on slowest and you will see better results as the warm air gets pulled off ceiling.
The reredos in the temple of Iron!
Looks good!
Had a trip canceled b/c of canadian border closure last week. Still took the time off and built a ~500sf paver patio in the backyard as part of my 2 year plan to fully remodel the backyard of the house we bought this past spring. Pavers are 4 inches thick and heavy AF. I want to pull 3-5 pavers in a couple problem areas to redo the base/sand, and also want to mix in some different color pavers in strategic locations. All the paver extractor tools i can find are +$200 (Bon Tool) to buy and no where rents them. Anyone have any better ideas? Flathead screwdrivers and a thin crowbar are a HUGE PITA to make work with these pavers.
