I immediately thought Paw Patrol and was like damn Rider what do you have the pups doing this episode…
And I immediately thought jungle book. Different ages I guess.
I was more a Lady and the Tramp kinda kid.
Made a work bench for my miter saw.

Good job.
Put it on your wife’s side of the garage. She will be asking you to build that shop you have been dreaming of.
PS Insulate that garage door, dude.
Not much, but made a thingy…

so, the other day i got back to recording covers of songs that i like, after more than a year of not doing so. a few years back i posted a couple of them here, and admiteddly they were pretty bad, as some of you may remember.
i’m still not a good singer, but i like to think that i improved, and i really improved a lot on the recording, mixing, and post-production part, i.e. the tech part (which is what got me into recording covers in the first place).
here it is, if anyone wants to listen to it out of curiosity:
the original song is from Enrique Iglesias (whose songs I haven’t listened to in a while, but i used to listen to all the time, so there are quite a few of them that i still like to sing) and it’s called Alabao. in 1999 and 2000, for some reason he followed this trend of naming songs with spanish words, but then the song is in english. i thought that was interesting. this song is not among my favorites but i really like it nonetheless, and it popped in my mind the other day that i should have tried and make a cover of it.
'nother cover I made over the last couple of days
A banana hanger.
Needs some finishing touches, but she won’t break this one! ![]()
Edit:
Was gonna paint it, but wife is thrilled, so a little buff and we’ll call it good!
Nice! I always wanted one that looks like a monkey with his tail holding the bananas, but the couple that I’ve seen are either low quality or just stupidly priced. cant a man find a good quality way to hang his bananas anymore? -lol
S
The struggle is real!
Aparently the banana stand is one of the busier places/items in the house. And for some reason far beyond me when the usual one broke “Don’t worry about it, I’ll build another one” jumped out of my mouth before I even realized what I said. ![]()
The monkey idea is pretty neat, but would definitely take some practice. I’m going to hit up my old fabrication shop for some materials and make a couple of garden items like tomato trellises or something too, so maybe I’ll get good enough to make something like that.
Made this MTB trail over this past fall/winter/spring. Lot of hours out in the woods with my dog figuring out the route, clearing, building features, and then shaping/tweaking/testing. Its about 300’ vert, and i can do a lap door-to-door from my suburban seattle condo in under 25 mins. video edited to hide the entrance and exit sections.
That’s awesome. That you can hit it at leisure right from your door is a lot awesomer.
I was out for a ride yesterday on a trail that is in a bit of disrepair and was thinking it could use a little sprucing up.
It’s super rewarding to do any kind of trail work. Even if it’s only 1 day a year, bringing a shovel+rake and fixing up drainage, or blown out corners makes a big difference… And is cool to ride by those sections you worked on during future rides. It’s also cool to have people stop and say thank you for maintaing the trails they enjoy (hikers, bikers, and equestrians).
Also, manual labor on steep hillsides in slippery conditions is a damn good workout haha. It’s been my only workout during quarantine.
Like building Machu Pichu!
One (or two or three) can get a lot done with just a rake, shovel, and 5 gal. bucket.
I love those videos.
I wish our ground was that workable. In my early-mid teens we used to build dirt tracks all over the woods for bmx/general riding. Nothing but hard clay and rock. Always a good time though.
