Things That Piss You Off

Somebody is gonna get the shit entrenched out of them with that thing.

I call it the RPS (Rocket-Propelled Shovel).
It’s a dual purpose product, capable of making holes at high speed, also capable of making bodies to fill said holes.

Inspired by this morning’s commute:
Drivers that don’t use their cruise control :rage:

I like to drive in tempo to the song on the radio. So for example, if I’m driving in a 55 mph and Meghan Trainor’s Like I’m Gonna Lose You comes on, I slow to 40. If it’s followed by Eminem’s Lose Yourself I accelerate up to 60 (ā€œyou wanna never let it go, go!ā€). Obviously Charles Gnarly’s Crazy drives best at 55 on the dot. And so on.

I’m sorry this irritates you.

If you’re not in the passing lane, then there’s nothing to worry about :slightly_smiling_face:

It does beg the question though… What speed do you drive when Sammy Hagar’s I can’t drive 55 comes on?

Obviously that’s where we all get in trouble, isn’t it? Move Bitch can cause issues with law enforcement as well.

Also, Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off.

I have never used cruise control. Why would i use cruise control?

If you’re driving on the highway for any significant period of time, it allows you to not have to hold your foot on the pedal. This is trivial if you’re only driving like 10-15 minutes, but if you have an hour drive or so - you probably want that cruise control.
It also boosts fuel mileage a bit (not really why I use it).

I honestly find it more uncomfortable to not have my foot on the accelerator. Probably just a psychological thing after a decade or so of driving without the option of cruise control.

And there’s nothing wrong with that. But if I’m driving behind you for 20+ miles and your speed is fluctuating +/- 5mph, just know I’ve been contemplating ramming you for the last 15 miles lol

My problem isn’t people that don’t use their cruise control. It’s people that cant keep their fucking speed steady.

Someone driving behind me for 20+ miles would make me feel really uncomfortable for some undefined reason. I think driving over here is a bit different from over there.

This is why it upsets you that others don’t use it?!

I use it in order to keep my speed to a reasonable 5-6 above speed limit, or to match flow of traffic if it’s faster than that. Without it I have a tendency to lay a little too heavily on the pedal and sort of pass everyone.

I only don’t pass people like this if I’m not paying attention. Otherwise I speed up long enough to leave them behind.

(I was joking about song tempo. Though I was late to a doctor’s appointment today and very satisfyingly sped there to Tom Cochrane’s Life is a Highway. No cruise control because I had to watch for police.

I drive about an hour to and from work everyday, so if people can’t keep their speed steady - it drives me crazy (no pun intended). I don’t really care if people don’t use theirs, its just about their shit driving habits impeding MY ability to use my cruise control.

I do my best to pass people like this, but it doesn’t always work out that way. Sometimes you just can’t pass them (because their in the passing lane of course) so you’re just stuck there.

In a lot of places, you’d never even have to drive 20 miles. But my commute is about 50 miles and 45 of it are on one highway so it happens :man_shrugging:

The American medical system. I’ve been billed 800 dollars for attempting to get mental health care. 1 of the bills is for someone i’ve never heard of the others are from a doctor who i’ve met once with no explanation, billed on a holiday. Doctor hasn’t responded since Monday, billing department told me to write them an email. Still haven’t had a psych consult, still have no medication.

Dude that sucks and I feel your pain. Ask for an itemized receipt for each of those bills. Also, many GPs can prescribe anxiety/antidepressant meds. If yours won’t do it I would find a different one.

An ice dam on the roof that leaked all the way from the second floor to the basement, destroying my recording PC, 12 year old amp modeler, DI box, audio interface and ruined the finish on a guitar I’ve had since I was 16.

I’m not upset as much about the gear, but I had probably 20+ hrs of unfinished songs on that computer all the way back from 2014. The guitar finish can be fixed and the electronics can be replaced, but the hours of work put into the songs and getting back into the mindset of writing that way again… it’s just not going to happen.
