He wasn’t even the guy the police were looking for and he legally owned that gun (2nd Amendment).
This isn’t necessarily true, the warrant hasn’t been made public yet. He was staying at his cousin’s apartment also.
I’m not justifying the shooting, and I’m not defending either party. I’m saying we should wait for evidence to be made public before jumping to conclusions.
Or we could just start looting right now because it’s not about ‘justice’, it’s about that free TV.
From where? All the news stations are saying the same thing.
Obviously. Nothing gets more clicks than “WHITE POLICE OFFICER SHOOTS BLACK TEEN”.
Did you know the Police tracked a vehicle fleeing the scene of a murder, and that one of the occupants in that vehicle entered the same room Amir Locke was in? Did all the news stations report that?
Only a few, but majority of them still say Locke was not named in the search warrant by police. It’s not right for Amir to be shot like that even if he was in his cousin’s apartment. That’s like a shoot first, ask questions later kind of thing.
You’re correct that he wasn’t named in the search warrant, and that’s because they didn’t know the identity of the suspects that left the vehicle. They were able to follow the video footage to that apartment, and they got authorization for a no-knock warrant.
Let’s not discout the part that he was sleeping with a gun in hand, unless you find that to be normal behavior.
I agree that he shouldn’t have just been shot, but consider the circumstances - SWAT breaks into the apartment and finds a suspected murderer holding/waving a gun. Should they have waited until he started shooting them first? Would you have waited to be shot at before firing?
It’s important to wait for the details to come out so a situation can be judged in it’s entirety. Being pre-emptive in judgment unsurprisingly leads to bad judgment.
If the police didn’t know who the suspect was what gives them the right to shoot Amir? It doesn’t matter that he sleeps with a gun and he didn’t even fire or point the gun in the direction of the police. Also, those pigs had a head start on the dude, shooting wasn’t even necessary at all. I think Amir Locke is innocent and those trigger happy pigs did a lousy job.
Would I have waited to be shot before firing? Hell no because I’m not trained to handle a situation, had I been trained then yes I would have waited.
Your arguments are emotional, uninformed, and illogical. We’re just going to have to agree to disagree here, I don’t think there’s any reasoning with you on this subject.
No flame, I’m just exiting the conversation.
Hypocrite, you mention the fact that Amir sleeps with a gun and then you ask what I would do in the situation.
Dude I’m a college student not a cop.
Can I simply leave a conversation where we don’t see eye to eye? go lift or something to get out that energy, I dont care for this immature shit.
Yes Andrewgen you can leave
Well, a number of the gravy seal posters on here claim to sleep within easy access/arms reach of firearms for self/home defense. But no, that certainly be isn’t normal behavior.
I fixed the second quoted paragraph for you. Let’s no discount he was awoken from sleep expected to make a split second life/death decision.
I agree, I’m simply on the side of waiting for all the details before judging a situation. That notion seems to be getting poo-poohed here.
EDIT:
I think people sleeping with a gun within reach is both unsafe, and unhealthy from a mental standpoint. No one should need a gun under their pillow to feel safe. Mine is safely out of the reach of children, but within a reasonable distance if the shit hit the fan.
How in the hell are you supposed to manly the fuck out of freedom if you dont have a shower gun? Or a lawnmower rifle?
Do you even freedom? WTF bro.
First off, I never said I don’t shower with it. I just don’t sleep with it.
Secondly, the fence to the back yard is rigged with claymores so I can mow my lawn in peace.

That is a nice touch. ![]()
They won’t catch me slippin!
I have a mossberg snow shovel.
Yeah.
Confession: I derailed it intentionally.
Its a really touchy subject and I didnt want it to heat up to regrettable levels.
