Yes I’m not sure my downstairs neighbours in Shanghai would appreciate me cleaning and deadlifting… nor do I trust the structural integrity of the floor
The original homeowners’ association board members set it up when they took office. I’ve since become president and have been trying to delete the damn thing for forever, but the other dudes are married to it. Now that the last original dude is dropping off hopefully I can delete it.
Yep. Same family, the husband (who is 6’4 and 300+ lbs) tried to punch an 80 year old man during a disagreement. Have no idea how he’s held a job long enough to justify building a house. At least when they called the cops on the young black kid for something stupid (read: existing), the cops called the family a buncha Karens and told the kid to ignore them ![]()
Exactly why I didn’t have one when I rented haha
That being said … even when you do work hard enough to have access to uni gyms the rest of your life, you should also look at gearing up your living situation with some essentials … you know, for the summers haha
For me, it should be in the Chuckle thread, but my township has two of these. One that tries to be serious and another that is the opposite, and shares posts from the other to make fun of them.
It’s like watching Needful Things playing out in real life. There’s a semi-hot war going on over fireworks.
The trampy chick is making herself known. And she ain’t shy about it!
One segment is quite perturbed over teenage kids who are smoking dope under a bridge which is part of a bike/walking trail. Not only that, but in broad daylight. And they’re also jumping the fence in the new neighborhood that has a community pool!
Those dope smoking fence jumpers! And you can’t reason with them either because them drugs make them stupid!
And the Police! They’re no help at all! Some of them are even friends with the people lighting off fireworks! ![]()
Anyways, those community pages, they can be interesting.
The internet gives voice to mankind’s dumbest and most awful, that’s for sure. And it brings out the awful in decent people. Facebook has caused me to lose respect for a few of my friends and some of my closest family.
Oh, yeah. I’ve definitely gotten a better view of people’s opinions in the past year or two.
None of it really unexpected, just disappointing.
All of those people from high school and growing up that I hadn’t seen in 25 years- yeah, right back into oblivion. It’s ok with me that we don’t agree on things, see the world the same way or actually like each other for any reason other than proximity.
My neck… can that thing pls just let me have a good night sleep!!!
… at what point would it be acceptable to take an nsaid…
Heat. Last 3 days in the seattle area were over 100, with yesterday getting up to 109. Thats Arizona type heat. Multiple ambulances blasting past my office with presumably heatstroke victims as the majority of houses don’t have AC, mine included. It didnt get down below 95 degrees in my house until 10pm last night. 75% of my office came into work yesterday, many with their pets, just for the AC.
Cold is one thing. You can always put on more layers, bundle up, etc. Heat like this, you can’t escape from. The fucking box fan just feels like a blowdryer.
Its supposed to be 15-20 degrees cooler today thank god.
It’s not the clothes, it’s the hypocrisy.
Dress conservative = expect conservative treatment.
Dress like a tart = expect corresponding treatment.
"Oh but you shouldn’t look at that. You should focus on your workout.
why whyyy whYYYYYY???
Is there an option for “dress comfortably and not have to worry about how others will react?”? Asking for a friend.
I’m pissed off by shallow people who judge others for their looks or the way they dress. Dressing a certain way never means asking for a certain treatment.
I dress like a bum at the gym, I have no issue with people thinking I’m a bum.
No idea why people are fussed about others looking at them.
No one is holding a gun to anyone’s head forcing them to worry how others may react … that’s a personal choice one can control
I agree to a point.
To draw an apology though, if I were to walk around my local supermarket shouting obscenities at people, they have the choice to not react but it’s not reasonable for me to presume they won’t.
I find it’s less stressful when I don’t create motives for people in my mind that may, in fact, not exist.
How else is somebody supposed to experience injustice without actually being aggrieved?
I was having a dream last night that I was chilling in some busy restaurant with Anthony Bourdain. The younger Kitchen Confidential-era Bourdain, not the older world traveler. We were talking about what makes a good french fry - the crunch vs the shape vs the salt, etc.
We started heading into the kitchen to cook some stuff when my cat jumped on the bed and woke me up. I was genuinely truly pissed off. But then, after a little bit, I realized that just bullshitting and talking with the dude was probably the highlight anyway. Still though, cats jumping on the bed at 4am, c’mon.
Pro-tip: close the door. Then you can get woken up by them trying to claw it open instead.
Take jumping on the bed over waking up due to getting your legs clawed in a death hug or suffocated by sitting on your head
“Dear diary. It is three o’clock in the morning. The authorities have closed the door to the bedroom. I can only assume they have forgotten about me, and have left me here to die. As a last resort, I will stand post for the rest of the night and sing the song of my people, in hopes that they rescue me.”
