Seeing my friend (the aerobics instructor) doing her thing for her class always makes me smile. I just cant help it…she is just so cute (in mannerisims and all that stuff).
(Maybe it’s those KILLER legs…or that smile…)
When I walk in the door after a crappy day at work and all 3 of my kids come running up to me with big smiles on their faces, yelling “Daddy’s home!!”. Then they nearly knock me over giving me hugs and kisses. That has to be one of the best feelings in the world.
Little kids and pets. My mom has a daycare and whenever I see her kids I cant seem to NOT act their age. I have a blast and always have a smile on my face.
One day I was driving and there was a pitbull walking next to a guy. The pit was wandering into the street and I almost hit him. After I pass I see the dog wander into the street again. So I turn around to yell at the guy and I ask him if it was his dog, he said no. So I parked the car and walked after him.
I called the dog and she was about 100 yards away from me. She turned, put her head down and charged towards me. AS she approached I turned slightly so if she bit she would bite my butt. Well all she did was tackle me and flopped on her back belly up. So I pet her as I called 911 to get animal control to get her.
She was sittin next to me and was relaxed until she wandered into the street again. I ran into traffic, grabbed her by her collar and pulled her to the sidewalk again. I held her down this time, she was a big girl, and called 911 once again. This was about 20 minutes after the first time and 20 minutes after my dentist appointment that I was now late for. Not to mention it was raining and she was all muddied up. She sat ther and roughed around with me until animal control arrived and she went on her merry way.
She lived on that street but nobody knew where the people lived. That made me smile. She as such a good girl and I was happy I could get her on her way home. She as so aloof and was just happy to be around me. She didnt have a care in the world…
Seeing a guy discreetly pick up the check for 4 soldiers having dinner at a local diner, then leaving before they were told.
Accomplishing a goal, no matter how big or small. Be it taking my Cougars to the national championship game on NCAA 05, completing a degree, or hitting a PR in the gym.
And of course the requisite seeing my daughter, watching her learn to do something for the first time, and especially when I am traveling and she sees me at the airport and just comes charging towards me. Security had to stop her once!
Oh, and boobs.

Silence. You know, not the lack of loud noise, but absolute silence like what you get in the countryside when your neighbor is separated from you by major terrain

Another thing. SOme friends of mine (a family) have a duck. This duck and I always have conversations in “duck talk”. I come over to visit, the duck always quacks and carries on to greet me.
Then I have to “quack” back a few times. Then we have a “conversation” in “duck talk.”
Silly…yes.
Still makes me smile…even now.
