Things That Make You Smile!

My wonderful girlfriend’s small, sleepy early morning voice when I kiss her goodbye (or hello) in the morning.

Pretty much everything about my 14 week-old chocolate lab puppy, Chaco. Including the fact that he snores a little.

Remembering a line or a scene from Arrested Development, Seinfeld, Anchorman, Best of Will Ferrel(sp?) from SNL Parts 1 and 2, or any other funny show/movie during a slow part of my day.

Loading 4 plates on each side of the bar in the squat rack, knowing that I can take it down to rock bottom and get out of the hole with confidence, and without a spotter.

A few hours of free time on a Friday night with a 22 oz. bottle of Brother David’s Double Abbey-Style Ale, a pizza, a little greenery, my dog, my girlfriend, and a funny movie.

Great thread, China!

My kids…my son and I just click, and nothing makes me smile like my daughter…I can be in a crappy mood and she’ll do something like dance through the room wearing a tutu, cowboy boots, a cape and a football helmet, viola…bad mood gone.

Making my first cast just as daylight comes over the horizon.

Seeing people fall down.

Midget Thai Boxing.

oh and boobs

I’m glad that you all have so many wonderful things to smile about!

I’m off to go hiking, which truly makes me smile.

Have a nice day!

I smiled too, good one!

~When I finished a tough half marathon in 1:52 minutes in 85 degree heat

~I volunteer at a children’s museum, and my role is the play and interact with the children. One day I was playing with this boy, who was very shy and quiet, not smiling. As the minutes passed by, the boy began to trust me more and more, approaching me and mirroring my actions. As we played, almost an hour and a half went by, and finally the little guy smiled to me and said “good bye”. It was that day that I realized I could make a difference in someone’s life, even if it’s in the smallest way.

Cheers.

Know that even though I’m half way around the world from my girlfriend, when she’s having a bad day I know I can make her do a quick 180 and hearing the worry in her voice disappear over the phone.

Knowing that it’s possible to be in love and stay in love with someone 6000+ miles away and trusting them to make the right decisions no matter what the situation they may find themselves.

And, of course, boobs. And Vida Guerra’s ass. OOOOO SOOO HOT. WANT TO TOUCH THE HINEY.

Awwwwwwwwwww JP!

If you woke up this morning
with more health than illness,
you are more blessed than the
million who won’t survive the week.

If you have never experienced
the danger of battle,
the loneliness of imprisonment,
the agony of torture or
the pangs of starvation,
you are ahead of 20 million people
around the world.

If you attend a church meeting
without fear of harassment,
arrest, torture, or death,
you are more blessed than almost
three billion people in the world.

If you have food in your refrigerator,
clothes on your back, a roof over
your head and a place to sleep,
you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank,
in your wallet, and spare change
in a dish someplace, you are among
the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

If your parents are still married and alive,
you are very rare,
especially in the United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile
on your face and are truly thankful,
you are blessed because the majority can,
but most do not.

If you can hold someone’s hand, hug them
or even touch them on the shoulder,
you are blessed because you can
offer God’s healing touch.

If you can read this message,
you are more blessed than over
two billion people in the world
that cannot read anything at all.

You are so blessed in ways
you may never even know.

-When my wife scoots back into me to spoon.

That by far is one of the best feelings in the world… someone actuallying thanking you for your service, especially when so many people want to hate you just for wearing the uniform. It will definitely bring a smile to your face, especially with some fo the B.S. you face in the service. Thanks for carrying on the tradition.

75% of the worlds population has no food, clothes or shelter?

Where do you get those stats from?

oh, and boobs.

yep gotta go with boobs, random acts of kindness.
being healthy.
being half way (more or less) through my life and realizing that this is not a bad thing.
getting stronger and looking better.
the woman that i share my life with that adores me, i think she is slightly off, and accepts me just as i am.
seeing people enjoy life and each other.
helping other people.
being the kind of person that people can just come up to and ask for help.
not being mean or intimidating, dont need to be either.

  • My wife (most of the time)
  • My kids (when they’re sleeping)
  • My radio show (when we get awesome guests like ESPN’s Tommy Smyth on)
  • Playing hockey (when we play well)
  • Working out (when I don’t hurt myself)

Thinking about my nephew smiling never fails to bring a smile to my face…

I can’t believe how I feel about him… Makes me not even be able to comprehend how much I will care about my own children someday…

I know exactly how you feel, I care about my Nephew like he was my own, it’s good practice for when I’m ready to become a Father.
