My morning routine makes me happy: my wife is up at night feeding and taking care of our son (I get up to get her water or help with anything else she needs), so while they sleep in I get up early and take care of our animals. When I let our dogs out to the bathroom, I hang out with them outside for a few minutes and watch the sun rise. It’s lovely.
I hear ya brother - I do similar things … I get up before everyone and start the coffee, feed the dogs, start breakfast, etc. etc. to make my wife and son’s morning a bit easier. I get a lot of joy out of that.
Plus, my squat rack and weights will be here soon and my garage will become my early morning sanctuary
That looks my woods back home in NJ! Nice way to grow up.
I am hypnotized by this wtf
Strange thing to be happy about, but my eldest daughter (who lives in a large town in central Israel) reported that there were giant flashes like strobes going off at night and not just cracks of the Iron Dome batteries. This tells me the laser interceptors are up and running or they are at least trying them out.
Ohhh! That’s some sci-fi future weapon type stuff there. I’ve been hearing about that for a couple of decades but nothing else.
Happy first snow, Skyz!
It’s a big holiday for us here, too. Grabbed this coming home from work last week. We have more snow now, but I wasn’t feeling well yesterday, so I just oooohed and ahhhhed and let it go at that.
I thought those rocks were turkeys.
The neighbors/local farms pumpkin patch.

Apparently it’s called “Iron Beam”. The media appear to be petty quiet about it (except to acknowledge existence), but social media is all abuzz. Pretty cool.
Sci fi now.
On my ride home Monday we got snow that produced especially slick conditions. I have a large 4x4 pickup and was driving a little slow because my tires were thin. I had three cars behind me riding my ass in a snowstorm, so I pulled to the side to let them pass and ride each other’s asses in peace.
I rounded the next turn and they were all three in the ditch. Two in one side, one on the other. That made me happy.
I got beefy new tires yesterday too, which makes driving in snow kinda fun. Bring on the wintah!
For the past few years I was driving a Subaru WRX, mighty fine winter car you might say. Did I ever swap out the summer tires I had on it for more appropriate ones, ones that make sense for 7-8 months out of the year around here? You bet your bottom dollar I did not. Never went off the road, but they were exciting times.
My new car has all seasons and is FWD. Sad.
When I get a meeting cancellation email.
The one time that I was in Dallas/Ft. Worth area like 25 years ago it sleet/snowed.
It was like a statewide emergency. I’ve never seen so many cars flipping and spinning. It was like automotive breakdancing at 75 mph.
Oddly enough, i just finished reading Tom Clancy’s Cardinal of the Kremlin and it was about that very technology.
That’s the fun part of being so far behind on his books - I get to see if the stuff like that panned out.
I used to have that thermostat … upgraded to a Nest … it’s magnificent
