Things That Make You Chuckle

I have on repeated occasions on T-nation forum heard a funny story about someone presenting a shoe when supposedly providing a body pic. Is this true or just an urban myth? Is there an origin/link to this story somewhere? What actually happened? @Chris_Colucci for insight.

It’s real, but I can’t find it.

the original post is gone for good, but i believe the original poster was @eliteballa33

@pettersson
I wasn’t involved in the situation unfortunately, but from what my impressions are - he took like 3 week progress pics (with a whole new thread) or some stupid shit, then someone convinced him he needed to post the pictures holding a shoe ‘for reference’. I’m sure someone who has been here longer could expand on this story, but the original thread is lost forever =(

No, he was holding the shoe on his own when he asked for a body fat estimate.

honestly that’s WAY better. Thank you for the campfire stories

Eliteballa33! I wonder if he ever turned into a muscle monster? With that username I guess anything is possible. A wonderful story it is nevertheless. What type of shoe was it?

Adding: I checked eliteballa33:s threads - and wow - he was really an easy target, getting upset and rude for no obvious reason. And he had a good upper frame, but them legs were seriously lacking. It seems to me he didn’t want to talk about legs - and also didn’t like his 15 minutes in the shoeshine

I’m surprised to find not everyone posing with a shoe nowadays. This is how you start a cult. No matter how you put it, eliteballa33 is an anti-hero! But that username actually sucks. What does “balla” mean? Is there @eliteballa32 or @eliteballa34?

Did you guys see the dude who posed holding a 2 x 4 in pics?

It was like a 2X10 with the board covering his midsection. I don’t know how he thought we wouldn’t notice. Like dude what is it you are trying to hide behind that board.

Or the dude who took his body pics with what looked like an actual fancy camera? I feel like the room and lighting looked like a photo set (if the photo set was creepy bedroom), like he was trying to take a real photo of himself. But it was just a dude in yellow shorts trying to get bodyfat estimates.

Makes me not feel so bad for taking progress pics in the crappy mirror of my hall bath.

He was interested in increasing his vertical. I assume that balla means “baller” as in one who plays ball (probably basketball due to his interest in jumping higher). No idea what the 33 means.

The thing was, he actually wanted to lose weight since he had calculated that if he reduced his bodyweight to some value his vertical would go up by some certain amount. I don’t remember the details of the calculation.

And yes, the shoe was something that he decided to include in his pictures “for reference” without any prompting.

He came back a few years ago and had changed his goals somewhat and seemed to have matured.

Wait, was this the dude who “didn’t conjugate with sheep?”, and tried to sell everyone on the “deadlifts and presses are all anyone needs” program?

I don’t think so.

@skyzyks re, playing with your food. I had to hear this now you do too. Worst ear worm ever. The vegetables getting cut are nightmare fuel. Warning, don’t let your kid watch this or he might play it on repeat.

 Thanks! I loved the vegetables getting cut! I actually do that when I’m slicing up peppers and onions for steak hoagies. Or go all Dexter on them with “Look at what you did! This is why you’re on my table!”.

Kiddo will love it. We’ll put that on next time we do nacho night.
