Looking towards what the future has to hold
-
The feeling when you’re sitting after a 2 1/2 hour workout with sweat burning your eyes and knowing that you left everything out there.
-
The feeling I get 20 minutes after taking 2 Spike with grapefruit juice.
-
Knowing that I’m doing EXACTLY what I want to be doing with my life.
-
Realizing that I actually moved all the way across the country to pursue my dreams - something that most people would only dream of doing.
-
When I ask a girl out and get turned down. At least I’m not thinking “I wonder what could’ve happened if…”
-
Hanging out with old friends from high school and reminiscing about all the stupid shit we did.
-
During a bust-ass workout when my mind and body get into an argument about what to do - and when my mind wins.
Body: This fuckin sucks. I’m stopping.
Mind: No you piece of shit! Keep going!
Body: No, this hurts!
Mind: Fuck you! You’re not stopping!
And after the mind wins, knowing that I’ve become that much stronger.
- Hearing “Have you lost weight.”
- Hearing “Did you play football,” when I didn’t.
- Seeing my son smile when he’s discovered something new.
- Looking at my beautiful wife and realizing how blessed I am.
- BJs
- Aggresive sex.
- Going up a notch or three on my belt.
- A new personal best in the weight room.
- Going to buy new pants and they fit without having them altered. (I’m 5’8 and stocky).
- Seeing my son freak out with joy when he first notices I’m home from work.
- Being tired and then playing Metallica’s “Dyers Eve” and getting the energy to throw a chair through the wall.

Bigflamer, btw, thank you to you and all your brother and sister firefighters on this forum and not here (in real life).
Thank you for having the balls to save our asses and doing something most of us would be too scared to do. If I see a fifteen foot wall of flames…I run away and not towards…not a firefighter, though.
No thanks necessary really, I just like being good at a job that makes a difference. It does however, at the end of the day, boil down to just that, just a job.
Although, I will admit, it probably does take a certain kind of individual to make their way into a smoke filled house, only to find flames over your head, and realizing that your smiling like a retard with a corndog at the fair :-]

Hey, Rockscar could entice anyone with his pink stockings, crotchless underwear, leather vest, feather boa, and ‘old-perverted-geezer-from-Family-Guy-voice’.

Finding a movie that doesn’t suck. You all need to check out Poseidon. It was better than I thought it would be…much better.
Really? Those previews scared me away from that one. I suppose I’ll check it out now, I wish I had known it was decent while it was still playing in IMAX…
It was one of the better showings of action that I’ve seen in a while. I never saw the previews, but I think more people should have given it a chance. After the first 5-10 minutes or so, it picks up speed and pretty much stays that way.
It wasn’t a true remake of the original aside from the basic premise of the boat turning over. It’s like the real reason most guys even saw Titanic the first time before we realized it was a love story…to watch a ship blow the fuck up and sink. The opening sequence is all CGI except for two closeups and it was done well.
I rented this over the weekend and really enjoyed it. Glad I didn’t pay attention to the reviews b/c they all seemed to be negative…I don’t understand why. Like X, said it was one of the better action flicks I’ve seen in a while.
