Arrogance - Come on people everbody’s shit stinks.
Ignorance - Please take the time to educate your self on a topic before you speak.
Since I started the thread I should at least add mine (got sidetracked earlier):
*Children who are disrespectful to their elders (being a teacher, this really pisses me off)
- Parents who drop their children off to school in their pyjamas and then proceed to pick them up 8 hours later in the same attire ( I KNOW you don’t work and claim benefits because you have 5 children from 5 different fathers, but at least TRY to hide it)
*Rude boys, chavs and wiggers
*The fatties who cost the NHS billions each year when its much cheaper to buy a piece of rope for each of them and tie them to a treadmill - People who take drugs and then constantly talk about “how off it” they are, same with alcohol, i get it, your pissed, brilliant, so am I, I dont need to hear "do i look pissed/high? You think im pissed/high ? etc…
*When people quote films excessively
There are more to add!

Also can’t stand people who smoke RIGHT outside the entryway of places I need to leave or exit.
If you want to smoke, fine. I don’t give a shit if you don’t care about your health but lets face it, you guys smell like rotten dogshit and you should be conscientious of those who don’t want to be surrounded by your filth.
Also I hate people who are fussy-pants bitches about eating vegetables. Grow the fuck up and learn that eating a balanced diet is how you take care of yourself and part of what it means to be an adult. Taking a multi-vitamin won’t make up for the lack of fiber and anti-oxidants in your diet if you neglect vegetables.
There is a reason why its usually children who hate vegetables, they’re kids though so their stupidity is understandable. By the time you’re an adult you should know better.

I like vegetables. I think they taste great. In fact I think everything tastes great. I haven’t met a food I wouldn’t eat with a smile on my face. I just don’t get what they’re good for. They’re nutritionally barren and seem like a waste of time. Maybe I need them for anti-oxidants. I’ll just find the most efficient way to get those. Blueberries or something probably. Fiber is totally useless if you ask me though. It is literally just indigestible garbage. As long as you can successfully execute a shit, I don’t see any need to seek out fiber lol.

Why csulli, why?!

Because the sonofabitch was infatuated with elves and halflings. Elves are hyper-effeminate and make extensive use of cowardly magic and bows. Hobbits are exceedingly weak and pathetic and make extensive use of cowardly stealth and trickery.
He even makes stupid hobbits like the focal point of the stories and main heroes somehow. The appeals to weak little children who want to feel like they can be important to by making use of weak cowardly tactics despite the fact that they would really be almost totally useless.
Fine, whatever. It didn’t appeal to me though. He made dwarves a laughing stock. They were like fucking comic relief the whole goddamn time. Dwarves! The guys who are strong and tough and heavily built and so stout and barrel chested as to be almost as broad as they are tall. Who grow epic beards even the most manly man couldn’t hope to match. I mean they’re almost literally powerlifters.
Who make the best and strongest beer and can out drink an entire village of a lesser race. Who wield the weapons of a true warrior, massive axes and hammers! Who have a grim, stoic demeanor and aren’t afraid of a good doom and never forget a grudge.
But no Tolkien preferred to portray them as inferior to the Elven Abercrombie and Fitch boys for whom he had a massive hard-on.[/quote]
Did you read the books or just watch the movies? I feel like a lot of the problems you bring up were added in the movies. For instance:
–Elves: although they do use bows, the book actually has the elves using spears a lot. And using a bow is not really that unmanly since it takes a lot of skill and strength (slight tangent: I am always a little put off when fantasy gives weak and female characters bows to make them fighty but not macho. Bows with a strong enough pull to pierce armor and kill people take a lot of strength to use well). On the subject of magic, Tolkienite magic in the books is somewhat more passive and non-fighty. So although the elves do have some magic, in battle they still end up piercing a lot of stuff with their spears at close range.
–Dwarves: Dwarves are never mocked in the books. This is definitely something that Peter Jackson introduced in the movies for comic relief. The Legolas/Gimli rivalry is strong in the books but it isn’t the one-sided fest that it is in the movie. I was rather disappointed in the movie as the friendship between Gimli and Legolas is supposed to develop as they begin to respect each other as equals. It doesn’t work when one of them walks on snow and the other trips over his own boots. Why would they respect each other as equals?
–Hobbits: Yes, the hobbits are effeminate, boring, and unambitious. But the books focus on those hobbits who chose to do something and become something. Another important part that was left out in the movies is the scouring of the shire. In short, Merry and Pippin come back to the shire and realize that it has been taken over by Saruman and a handful of orcs.
The hobbits, true to form, have wussed out and done nothing. Merry and Pippin, rally the hobbits and charge up a hill to send the orcs running. So if anything, the point is not that it’s okay to be a 3 foot tall beardless man with hair on his feet who sits in his kitchen and makes cheese. The message is that even if you are 3 feet tall and can’t grow a beard and have hairy feet, you should own that and be awesome.
There are, of course, problems with Tolkien. It’s not just that he lets us know what everyone ate. He also lets us hear the poem that a minor character’s grandfather used to woo said minor character’s grandmother. And that poem is in elvish. Tolkien did need a little bit of editing.

I read everything he ever wrote before the movies came out, and I actually even got my college lit class credit from a Tolkien reading class lol.
I still find elves and bows effeminate and am not drawn to them like I am with dwarves. And you’re right Gimli isn’t really the comedian in the books, but by god in the Hobbit he makes dwarves to be the most idiotic bunch of bumbling fools you’ve ever seen. I’m actually stoked that the new Hobbit movie does away with much of this and uses them LESS as comic relief.
Fair enough about Hobbits manning up despite being small and terrible. I guess that’s a good message. I’d just rather read about Beorn disemboweling orcs.
LOL @ “He also lets us hear the poem that a minor character’s grandfather used to woo said minor character’s grandmother. And that poem is in elvish.” Definitely a long-winded writer. He sets up an epic adventure to cross the world and save a kingdom from a dragon, and just before the party sets off he decides to spend three pages describing an apple on the tree outside.
But I’m long-winded too, so I never begrudged him too badly for that ![]()
Also I just found out that Vitamin C is itself an antioxidant. So here I am again wondering wtf fruits and vegetables do for me that a pill cannot.

Fiber isn’t just needed for helping you take a shit, its helpful for promoting good cholesterol, liver health and increasing insulin sensitivity. These are especially important if you’re running gear or if you have a family history of certain diseases.
You may not like vegetables for whatever stupid reason but don’t spout off nonsense like they’re “useless.”

A childs palate is much more sensitive to chlorophyll and it is very bitter to them. Thats why they will usually prefer carrots, corn and fruits to spinach, broccoli, peas and whatnot.

By what mechanism does fiber control cholesterol and what does it have to do with running gear? Fiber absorbs fat in the gut and carries it through unabsorbed, and you fucking inject steroids.
For fucks sake man. Everybody here is talking about people who spout off like an idiot and you are the number one, calling everything and everyone else stupid.

So are you saying that the mechanism by which cholesterol is reduced is not because the fat is absorbed by fiber and passed through?

Sorry, I thought you were insinuating that fiber doesn’t in fact have any positive effect on cholesterol and that steroids don’t affect cholesterol levels adversely.
I would agree that they’re not directly related but a healthy diet can nevertheless assist someone who is running gear and/or has cardiovascular risk factors.

Where do you think this vitamin C in pills is extracted from?
People who think they have the world by the tail
Teenagers…see above.
People who act tough to try to gain respect.
Men or women who have a great spouse yet treat them like crap.
Men who are afraid to be loving towards their spouse and children in public because they think it makes them look less manly.
On the other hand…people who are in public and going overboard with affection is also annoying. I don’t really want to walk through the mall and see some 16yr old kids sitting on a bench making out…take it to your car, or home.

Regardless of the mechanism fiber does help to reduce ldl and total cholesterol and also has a profound effect in reducing diverticulitis
