hey guys, just a quick question. ive never been big on measuring my body before, but decided to tonight and was a bit baffled at the fact my calves are about the same size as my biceps. then when i looked in the mirror, i came to the realization i have pretty little legs.
long story short, had a bad wreck several years ago and now have chronic back problems hindering my ability to put a large amount of mass on my legs, but damn i am getting a bit self conscious about this.
i am 186 lbs, 5’10". biceps were 15", calves were just barely over 15", and my thighs were 24"
i bust my ass trying to strengthen and put mass on my legs, but just seems like i am wasting my effort while the rest of my body has grown substantially. any input would be great here guys, thanks
you forced me to grab the tape, i got about an inch on you all around but it doesnt seem small to me. well really my calves and bi’s in never really satisfied with so, i guess you got a point…
If you have back problems do front squats and leg presses, i love leg press, i do sets of like 575, it sweet. oh, and extensions shouldnt hurt your back either, lol
i actually do front squats, i love doin them, but like i said it just seems like i dont make much progress. i push myself til i about puke every time yet my numbers dont rise much. and as for extensions, i quit doing those a while back after reading something on here about how much they tend to do damage on your knee joints.
cant remember who wrote it, it was like 2-3 years ago. maybe i shouldnt believe everything i read lol.
Yup that’s old school Bill Pearl standards. OP as for the thigh growth, you just have to keep on hitting them. Make it a priority and train accordingly.

working harder does not equal stronger
working smarter AND harder equals stronger.
Have you checked your form? Tightening up your form can add like 10kg to any lift.
Have you switched up rep/set/weight schemes? It is easy to remain stangnant if you stay on one pattern.
Are you pooling alot of your energy into other lifts? You can easily add lots of weight onto a lift if you focus on it for severel weeks.
There’s always a solution, you just have to be persistant and open minded
OK, so I measured myself. Bit under 15.5 on bis, calves 15.2, thighs just over 24… BUT, my thighs look big compared to the rest of me right now, lol. I’m 5’9" and about the same weight as you atm. Anyway, I think your measurements are fine.
good deal, makes me feel much better. i thought it was totally fucked that my calves and biceps were the same size. i guess if my thighs and biceps get the same size then i should worry ha
You guys are measuring your biceps flexed right?
Flexed I’ve got a little over 15" biceps, 24" thigh, 16" calves at 6’ 205. I’d love to get the extra inch on my biceps to match my calves but its tough getting them to grow.

According to old-school symmetry, your calves, biceps, and neck should be the same size.
Thanks you made me get the tape out.
I am 5’8" 205lbs
Arms 17"
Neck 17"
Calves 16 3/4
That is funny that actually works out pretty close. Never would have guessed that.
I am currently hitting calves three time per week to bring them up. Damn knee surgery’s.

i love measurements but have found out that sometimes they just really dont matter
I’m 5’7 at 70kg (some visable abs, no clue about body fat dont really care)
Neck: 15.5"
Bicep: 14"
Thighs: 24"
Calves:15"
I just wanted to play with the boys
Your legs are the same size as all the guys who posted their numbers in this thread haha, that’s some motivation to get bigger if I’ve ever seen any.
