Then and Now... Thanks TNation!

Nice work. I just wanted to comment about the general public’s idea of muscle/weight gain. According to your first post, you are “only” 30lbs. heavier, but the visual difference is impressive. I have people tell me from time to time something along the lines of “Yeah, I want to start working out and put on 20lbs. of muscle” as if it’s no big deal. Your pictures are a realistic reminder of what an accomplishment that really is.[/quote]

I appreciate that.

I think something most people forget also is that adding ‘x’ pounds is not going to be adding ‘x’ pounds of muscle, EVEN if bf% stays the same. ex: if you’re 20% bodyfat, and you add 20 pounds while maintaining 20% bodyfat, you’ve added 4 pounds of fat. I’m pretty sure I’m actually leaner in most of my after pictures than before, in terms of bodyfat %. I have noticeable vascularity in my shoulders/upper chest, and am starting to see veins in my legs.

I also think it helps that I started with low bodyfat. Muscular gains are way more noticeable with low BF. There’s really no fooling yourself into thinking you’re putting on more muscle than you really are.

Ah, that’s a very good point. I had overlooked that aspect of it.

Everybody’s already mentioned the legs, but I certainly don’t think a little bit of work on shoulders and traps would hurt, either. That’s also a rather high bench in comparison to the squat and DL. I bet your total would increase faster with more work on those.

That said, you look great for someone whose primary focus is PLing total. Your lats look very impressive for your size/build.

On a bodybuilding split for the last 6 weeks, trying to build some leg size. Didn’t lift the previous 2 months at all (November and December)

Pretty excellent transformation man!!!

Only obvious thing that really sticks out is your legs need some work.

Great job!

Recent picture. Weighed in at 185 (lifetime highest weight), still lean enough to see veins through arms, upper chest, shoulders.

As of a couple days ago. I’ll get a new leg picture up soon as well. One of these days I’ll actually get someone else to take some non-shitty cell phone pictures.

I probably shouldn’t post new pictures so often, but I feel like I’ve actually made visible progress in the last few weeks.

Weighed in at 192 this week, up about 7 lbs from the last pics a few months ago. The gainz are likely more in my legs than upper body.

Lookin solid man.

Good job brother. Very cool to see your hardwork paying off.

man them veins on your delts are crazy. looking like venom

I’ve seen you posting but never caught this one. Just wanted to say that’s a damn good job in that time period. Keep up the good work!

Good work. Sick shoulder veins!

whats the secret to shoulder veins? nice work man. We have the same hairline!

Haha, yeah I have the same hairline to. When I joke with people about their receding hairline, they always say “You have it too!” But I don’t. I’ve had the same hairline since I was a kid.

The shoulder veins are just a combination of leanness and genetics. I don’t do specialized shoulder-vein assistance work, lol.

And it’s not surprising that both comments about having the same hairline came from guys who happened to be exactly the same age as me. I decided that this is going to be the last time in my life to have long hair. I’ll be going with the cue ball look by the time I’m 35… and probably sooner.

id say a good 4.7

It looks like it’s been about a year since I posted a leg picture. This was yesterday. Earlier this week I squatted 275 for 6 sets of 5. Don’t really know what my current max is, probably low 400’s.

I started my first diet ever last week. I’ve dropped between 1500-2000 calories per day that I was getting from drinking a gallon of milk per day at work. I’ve replaced the milk with 4 scoops (80 grams protein) of Metabolic Drive. So essentially I’ve reduced my sugar intake drastically. I’m also eating a Metabolic Drive bar late afternoon on training days before workouts. I started taking Indigo a few weeks ago, but only adjusted my diet last week. I’m also cutting out alcohol completely. I didn’t drink much before, but I’d like to see what kind of results I can get by taking the diet seriously.
