The Weird Things People Do

The professors at my school’s business school have a tendency to answer emails between 10pm and 3am

I work with some VPs who do the same thing … coincidentally I answer emails from emails sent past 6pm at 5am …

They’re either going to be late, or getting up early AF

I used to wait until normal business hours (8am-5pm) to reply out of respect, but after 3 consecutive 2am emails, I decided to f it and reply at 6am

I used to do the same thing until I started working from home - now the way I structure my working day (usually depending on work load/deadlines/etc) it just makes sense to get them out of the way first thing (unless it requires an actual effort to compose…you know, for more complex situations, etc.).

Plus, I like the idea of being the first email some of these people read in the morning – that shit can influence someone’s day one way or the other ya know … shit, you should know more about that than me, Ms. Behavioral Science superstar :1st_place_medal:

I love to make things perfectly symmetrical wherever possible.

I hate having too sound sources like radio on + telly on at once.

I always use my teeth to scrape the ice/extract the flavour from a lolly.

Oh & I used to collect ties even though I rarely ever wear a tie!

Weirdly freaking specific.

I had a long conversation with a horse today. Told her where we were going to go, even showed her the map when I did it, showed her where to expect some heavy snow build up, and that we have to ford a very cold river, but it was only a couple feet deep.

I’m 100% convinced she understood everything, and was mildly annoyed about being told about the river. Like she expected me to get out and walk, too.

Nothing weird about that.

I like really tiny things: mini cutlery, mini bowls, tiny plates, tiny animals…

I just joke- small person → small things

An old buddy of mine used to make all kinds of tiny origami figurines out of the paper that straws come in.

Not just little stick figures either. He’d make some really neat stuff. All while sitting there chatting and waiting for a burger.

Are they for sale?

Nah. He’d throw them away when we were done eating.

Even if they were, I haven’t seen him in about 8 years.

I also had two mules and another horse. I think she translated back for them.

The mules were to pack welding equipment and a barbed-wire stretcher. The other horse was to pack a welder who had never really ridden a horse, but he was the welder I had free. (Trip by car = all day; trip by horse in a straight line = 2 hours.)

I think the poor welder bruised his testicles. I kept telling him stand tall in the saddle, but I don’t think he understood what that meant.
