The Walking Dead Season 5

I was like, ‘Hey look it’s the dude with Rick’s watch. Oh, okay, nevermind.’

(Unrelated: Gotham, where that dude’s playing The Penguin, is a pretty good show so far but Jada Pinkett Smith is absolutely terrible in it.)

Ha, yeah, no clue how everyone was satisfied with that non-answer. I get that it wasn’t a good time to talk, but no one was even like “Wait, what?”

Pretty much, yep. Leaving the BBQ cook lady laying there for the walkers was cold and awesome. I was watching a bit earlier in the day when AMC was showing a marathon of last season and I caught parts of The Grove where she handled crazy Lizzie. I forgot how awesome that whole episode, and Carol’s performance, was.[/quote]

I missed the hippy connection until talking dead. Good catch, that also explained Carol taking the watch.

The table full of children’s toys had me siding with eradication of Terminus.

The Eugene thing is getting handled well enough, I guess. I was thinking that Abraham might need to adjust his identity as Alpha a bit. I am thinking un-armed in a boxcar Grumpy Cat with a Sword would have him beaten into submission pretty quick.

Someone make a GIF of Daryl running into Carols arms, RIGHT NOW! Dem feels, damn it.

I liked it. Very dark.

I wonder if we’ve seen the last of the “Then” flashbacks.

Forgot to mention, anyone else wonder what they are going to do with Morgan this season? Going to follow the comic story with him? Michonne finally going to get some love?

There already was season previews that showed the Terminus people with Rick’s group going to Washington together. Don’t know if I can find any links to it. It is pretty obvious that they are gonna be some part of at least this coming season.

It was a pretty good start but had a lot of RIDIC.

That whole blowing up the gas tank with the little fire work. What the fuck?
and how they introduced Morgan in this really cheesy and over-dramatic 15 second clip at the very end.

But as usual the cast rocked it. Agreed that Carol is a bad-ass and the actress is damn good. Dialogue seemed more interesting and well-written; they weren’t merely repeating different versions of the same old conversations again. That may just be because it is a new season and they’re in a new location.

Necessary so Rick can use the machete with the red handle to kill the chief bata-male cannibal.

Do they really think there is going to be anything left of Washington, did they forget what Atlanta looked like?

And I will lap up whatever contrivances it takes to make that happen and get Michonne her sword back.

I just want the ridiculous but awesome to ridiculous and tedious/stupid ratio to be better than fifty-fifty.

More Carol shooting precision bottle rockets and Tyrees wrecking the world and less hamper of guns, outside, with the barrels up and Days of Our Farm with Zombies. The problem is they already have me as a viewer so they don’t need to work at all.

I think you are right and the writers just aren’t big on continuity or having the characters learn/remember.

Still wasn’t Atlanta being used as a “safe” zone/evac point. The CDC building was basically fine if Jenner wouldn’t have decided to let it blow. I think Eugene’s narrative is that he can get them into high level buildings/bunkers. It isn’t too out of the ordinary to believe that there are pockets of government still out there. It is just finding them, surviving the contact, and getting let into the club that would be the problem.

I am trying to figure out if it is intentional that they are making so many of the “other” groups violent and predatory even though living people would be a huge asset or if it is just story telling.

I think they will get to D.C and when they get there the guy who supposedly knows the cure will be killed.

Well I would imagine the White House is extremely secure, or would be after they take out any would be zombies like the prison. If they wanted the most secure thing possible they could just live on a US Navy Destroyer. Don’t know if Zombies can swim but they wouldn’t be swimming out into the sea and climbing on that thing. I don’t know what would be more ideal then an Island or the ocean.

Anyways regarding the cure, did they say it would basically shut the zombies down? Kind of like short circuit all of them through some kind of aerial weapon or chemical in the atmosphere? I would think if Eugene was in on some kind of cure his team would have already been working on it.

edit* This is a TV show so I guess expect the less explainable, harder solutions to occur.

I’m still skeptical about the whole idea of a cure - seems more likely that mullet guy realised ginger army guy and badass girl could do a good job of protecting him, so he gave them a reason to

That isn’t how the comics progress, but the series is only borrowing from and not following them.

cstratton2 and MaazerSmit,

I don’t want to post spoilers from the comics and I don’t know if either of you are familiar with them. Being skeptical makes sense. Also, since the comics are still going on it can be assumed the “cure” doesn’t pan out all that well.

I thought it was a great first episode. I don’t mind the unrealistic aspects of the show as long as it is entertaining (so basically not like the 2nd season).

I stopped reading the comics a few issues after the battles with Negan ended. The whole War with Negan was probably my favorite thing about the comics. Has it been good since that ended?

I read via the compendiums so I am in pretty much the same boat.

What?

You didn’t love Days of Our Farm, with Zombies?

Didn’t the tv show already steer far away from the comics anyways? Also I am pretty sure that was like a half spoiler anyways. :^)

Oh does anyone else feel like this cure and everything will kind of end similar to the end story of the Maze Runner novels?
