I thought for sure it would be Beth - she seems like prime cannon fodder, and she has been Judith’s surrogate mom for the last 1.5 seasons. I was shocked Beth didn’t get killed last night.
Sucks that Herschel died, but i’m really glad that they have to leave the prison and that the show is moving on.

He wouldn’t of lasted long “on the run” now that the prison is done with. The prison just reminded me of the farm (w/similar endings: shit breaks out/people scattered). I like the show better when they’re on the go and danger is everywhere. The prison and farm were just easy living and boring. Nothing to do but fight with each other. I hope it takes a few episodes before they all meet up.

Those motherfuckers better not kill Maggie…

x2…she is half the reason I watch anymore. I wish they let her keep her accent for the show. I know it wouldn’t fit the plot but who gives a fuck.
And to Ghorig, if someone read the comics why would they expect Maggie of all people to die. She is one of the only original characters who is still alive in the comics. I agree with waldo that it would have been Beth if anyone since she isn’t a comic character.
I thought it was an enjoyable episode not without some plot holes and stupid things but they were forgettable for teh story.
-My favorite was when Tyreese was taking his shots at people surrounding the tank trying to remain under cover but then when it pans out he is behind a wooden support beam that doesn’t even cover 1/2 of him haha. It’s like four60 hiding behind a 2x4…
-Judith is still alive. No way they kill her off. I think the blood was from someone’s hands (I like the Governor’s gf idea!). Straps were undone and no way a walker does that.
-like csulli, I literally said outloud “Darryl would be able to take out a tank”. dude is the man!
-I find it odd the bus rolled out. I feel like Glenn wouldn’t have let that happen even in his current state of disaray.
-my gf also pointed out the fact they were just fucking up the prison beyond repair.
-Rick is fuuuuuuckked up. Dude should be a vegetable.
In all honesty though, why didn’t they continue to stay there? There were more cell blocks that weren’t damaged and they can do some cleanup/repair as they take out the new zombies. I agree, I’m happy they are moving but still doesn’t make much sense.

That’s pretty much what I was expecting, Beth (and Judith) to go out like Lori and Judith in the comics.
Definitely a good episode and overall I have to say I was pretty happy with this first half of the season. Only thing that sucks is now, just like after Season 2, we’ll have 3 or 4 separate groups’ stories going on until they all reconnect.
Not sure I can see Lily picking up Judith, since she had no real reason to continue into the prison. But I agree the baby’s probably still alive. Maybe someone on the bus grabbed her before they took off? (Probably would’ve left her in the seat though. Meh, confusing.)
Herschel was a tough son of a bitch, right to the end. Solid send-off. Loved that little smile when Rick made the speech, showing he was at peace with it all. I’m just worried Glen’s going to get all moody/emo since he was in the bus useless while it all went down.
Earlier in the episode I was hoping for a Beth/Judith dying couple, but later one when Maggie made a big deal about looking for her I thought it would be her.
Yes Maggie may still be one of the originals alive, but so is Andrea…at least up until book 9 which is where I’m at. That and I thought it would be a good way to both deviate and pay homage to the comics. Just like how Hershel died instead of Tyreese, etc. I like Maggie’s character and I like the actress that plays her, but I just thought that she and Judith needed to get mowed down together. Beth/Judith would have been more poetic but it just didn’t look like it was going to happen in the episode after Beth goes off to do bus stuff.
FYI: I read on a yahoo article that Hershel got to keep his prop head. He says he likes it but keeps it in the closet. Which begs the question…is it better to have skeletons in the closet or a head. We should probably ask the Govenor since he won’t have a biased opinion on the matter.

Totally agree.

Sorry if I made it seem that her being a comic book character was the only reason she should still be alive. I just did not see it as her time and the fact that she is alive in the comics held some weight to me. I feel like the killed Andrea for the obvious reason that everyone hated her. Everyone seems to love Maggie while Beth seems a little more dispensable. I also thought it would be cool to have Hershel and Beth die that way Maggie will just turn into an emotionally dead, zombie killing, sexy, mega bad-ass.

Nah, I think that’s probably reading a little too much into it. Brunette with shoulder-length hair and a post-apocalyptic makeup routine/wardrobe is probably fairly generic. You could also say the other sister, Tara, looks like Maggie.
Side note: I’ve been seeing some kinda-sorta convincing theories that Judith was picked up offscreen when the two little sisters ran off/double-backed after saving Tyreese, so we might end up with Tyreese taking care of three kids for a while, which should snap him out of his lame mood.

My God you’re right! I dunno I did a couple of double takes with Lily because of the resemblance, but there’s probably nothing too it. In any case, Gov is very dead now.
What if Tyreese become even lamer and starts breast feeding?

Either that, or the twisted little psychopath will try and torture the baby.
I also think Tyreese spending time with the kids might be bad - since he will probably figure out it was one of them who was killing and feeding the rats to the walkers and also killed his girlfriend.

Which is just insane because she is so awesome in the comics. Fucking AMC just can’t seem to write well for good looking blond women. Just look at Skylar from Breaking Bad and Don Draper’s wife from Mad Men.
On to a different subject…anyone else have a Derp moment when Rick and Govenor were fighting? Rick had him in full mount and gave him several solid unanswered face strikes. Then Govenor shrugs that shit off and proceeds to almost kill Rick in the dumbest rape choke eva. FFS rick just roll to your side and choke is broken. Anywho, had to vent bout that. Least it was an episode full of Rick limp wristing his revolver for 30 minutes.
