The Walking Dead Season 4

Herchel should have rated a strop at least. I think in the books the prison was darker and the Gov was truly insane. And made it frightening to see him in frame. This was anticlimactic for me.

Wow! That episode had just about everything I could want.

It confirmed what everyone already knew, which is that Daryl>Tank.

Gov finally died.

The show’s plot is unburdened by the elderly and infants (Hershel and Judith bit the dust).

The stale prison atmosphere is finally busted up and now the show will be forced to actually go somewhere both literally and figuratively.

That little psycho bitch girl sort of managed to redeem herself by saving Tyreese, whom I still have high hopes for.

For the first time in quite a while I’m actually excited to see where they go with things!

Well maybe she’s not, but my first reaction is that she’s definitely dead. She dies in the comics. Badly.

Yeah for some reason I just think one of the girls took her out of the baby seat to make it easier to carry. There was a lot of blood though.

EDIT: Rick got his ass kicked by the Gov.

Um…

take tank to secure prison as a new home
disregard combatants
literally do nothing with tank but actively destroy prison

assault weapons
leave exit wound on Alcoholic Medic from a distance
can’t penetrate zombie shields from 15-20 feet despite their eggshell bones

…what

Haha, of course it doesn’t go through the zombies!

Also, how stupid was that other group to trust the governor so quickly when they just met him. The only girls with some common sense were the two sisters that the governor first met. Yes it’s perfectly normal to chop someones head off after you had already killed him. I wonder what will happen with those two sisters, if they will meet up with the group.

Sucks that Herschel died, but i’m really glad that they have to leave the prison and that the show is moving on.

Good to see an episode with some uncertainty about how it will go down. I thought quite a few of the main characters were going to get it at one point or another (until they didn’t).

Seriously they can head shot zombies day and night without missing but when shooting at humans they all of a sudden suck. The only good that came out of last night is that they are moving from the prison and the governor is dead and therefore cannot be recycled again. I was displeased with just about everything else.

And humans take cover and are faster. But, of course, zombies have to be head shot.

I am more troubled by the really pathetic attack/defense strategies of both sides. The tank guy would have basic infantry training and could have led them on something a little less casualty intensive — and known to train to keep infantry around the tank to prevent the type of muzzle (or tread) attack that brought down the tank.

Also, the use of full auto annoys me. I doubt 95% of the m16 variants out there (even in the military) are full auto, but rather “burst” with three rounds. Full auto is wasteful and you’d get muzzle rise (which also didn’t happen, even from girls running and shooting one-handed at full auto).

Bullets don’t ricochet off the back of busses. They’d punch right through.

Etc.

I can barely watch any combat on movies, it’s just so badly done.

It’s not like there are not unemployed vets in this economy. Go fucking hire a few to advise on shit like this.

Agreed…

Any where you think they got it right (movies that is)? Saving Private Ryan seemed pretty legit, but I can’t think of too many more…

The beach scene, maybe, but then, I’ve never stormed a beach, so I don’t know. Ones that feel right to me are:

The Odd Angry Shot (British or Australian movie, I think)

Maybe “Stalingrad”

Das Boot seems legit, but then again, I’ve been in a submarine one time and that was on a tour (not a “Tour” but like a “tourist”) with a buddy who was a Navy Seal.

I know that them shooting back was a factor but there were a good 100 shots that did not even come close at the beginning of the shoot out before the invaders took cover. Carl was talking shit about he could hid the governor from 50 yards away with his rinky dink gun but not a single adult with an M16 could hit him.

Plus Tyrese would have been swiss cheese. Like those flower beds could stop how many bullets that were shot at him.

I don’t know, Carl seem to be making a valid point. The Gov was not one to reason with and the group should have known that. Shooting hiim while everything was calm, without the worry of flying bullets passing overhead even with a lever action rifle (that has probably put more animal flesh to rest than any other weapon on the field that day) could have worked.

That is not the point I was arguing. I agree that Carl should have just taken the shot when he had the chance.

I was really surprised the group at the prison had a bus and at least an evacuation plan even though it didn’t seem to go very smoothly. But then again I’m sure they didn’t plan for a tank.

At the end of the day, it’s pretty lame that the team with a tank lost…

Even without rounds for the tank it would still be a bullet proof shield and a bulldozer 4 men with basic training could have done a better job then what they did.

To others that have read the comics,

Is it just me or did you guys expect Maggie to find Judith then get mowed down by gunfire, in place of Rick’s wife, like in the comics? I like her and her character but it would of just been too perfect if it had happen. Full circle bitches.

They may have had a tank but Rick has Daryl Dixon
