I am blaming a lot of this on AMC defunding The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad to pay for Mad Men.
Zombie make up and special effects aren’t as cheap as “The Desperate Camp Wives of Hershel’s Farm”.

Also, the best woman on the show is Gleen’s farmer girl. Young, pretty, can ride(in more ways than one. BAZINGA!), and is self reliant. And stood up to the Rick’s wife about her bullshit.
In defense of the old man: He’s best mechanic they have, is willing to teach anyone whatever skills he can, gives sage advice to all those who need, is level headed, and can shoot a rifle.

I am giving T-dog/T-Dawg/The Black Guy some slack. He is having trouble adjusting to relying on cops and white people to get his back. He seemed to be a bit more useful last episode.
