The Top Ten

My list:

<repeat from 1 through 10.

It sucks that I don’t have an Ipod and the stereo will wake people up from the garage.

…I could break out my old Sony Sport Walkman (the big old yellow one) and some cassettes. I think I still have my old hockey pump up tape with I of the Tiger, Kick Start My Heart (Montley Crue) and Never Say Die (Bon Jovi).

KMFDM - Brute
Judas Priest - Heavy Duty
Pretty Maids - Future World
Anthrax - Only
Faith No More - Midlife Crisis
PIG - Nothing Touches Me
Creeping Death - Metallica
Behemoth - Static-X
Dink - Green Mind
Soundgarden - Rusty Cage/Outshined

My gym playlist has some 64 songs that I shuffle through each session, although there are a few songs that I always rely upon for my working sets.

Here are the songs that get played the most according to iTunes.

  1. KMFDM - Hau Ruck
  2. Guano Apes - Open Your Eyes
  3. Jay Z - 99 Problems
  4. The Presets - My people
  5. Grinspoon - better of dead
  6. Good Charlotte - I just wanna live
  7. Drowning Pool - bodies
  8. Rob Zombie - So Numb
  9. Jay Z - 99 Problems

Nice use of KMFDM, Judas Priest, Faith No More, PIG and Soundgard!

I saw a couple people mention them. But honestly “five finger death punch” is my go to list. I seriously listened to them exclusively for probably 100-150 workouts. Every once in awhile I will throw in some killsitch, soilwork, tool. But for the most part 5FDP! I will rank them.

  1. White knuckles - YouTube (Bar none NUMBER 1, if this doesn’t get you pumped nothing will)
  2. Way of the fist - YouTube
  3. ashes - YouTube
  4. salvation - YouTube
  5. Meet the monster - YouTube
  6. Death before dishoner - YouTube
  7. Never Enough - YouTube

  10. Can’t heal you - YouTube

Am I the only one with the Rocky soundtracks queued up?[/quote]

Nope- I think I have most of the Rocky IV soundtrack on my IPOD. I’d estimate I’ve listened to No Easy Way out and the Training Montage at last 1000 times in the last 20 years.

  1. Malabar Front: If these Trees Could Talk
  2. My World: Sick Puppies
  3. Love Remains the same: Gavin Rossdale
  4. XPander: DJ Sasha
  5. Live Your LIfe: Rihanna
  6. Message in a bottle: Watashi Wa
  7. Gimme Shelter: Rolling Stones
  8. I Still Believe: The Call
  9. Alive and Kicking: Simple Minds
  10. River of Deceit: Mad Season
  1. Beatles: Ballad of John and Yoko
  2. Ludacris: Call Up The Homies
  3. T.I.: On Top of the World
  4. David Bowie: Young Americans

  6. Jefferson Starship: Jane
  7. Eminem: Lose Yourself
  8. Talib Kweli: Get By
  9. Heart: Straight On
  10. Eminem/Jay-Z: Renegade

Current top ten. Call Up The Homies will cease to entertain me soon and drop off the list. Same with 99 Problems (actually, I should probably move that one off while I’m thinking about it). I’m waiting for Bishop Lamont’s newer stuff to become available on iTunes.

My music is chosen with an eye to my running needs, but I listen to the same stuff when I’m lifting.
