This should go under the heading of the “Sunday Comics”. The next time you hear a small plane flying overhead, kick in your situational awareness, thou, where you are going to go is a problem. Not many under ground shelters in your everyday life. It will not be long before some copy cat nut case picks up on this and gives it a go, especially, considering the lax security around regional airports.

From Mike Pannone:

From my experience, once any event begins, the stress we feel is very much self induced and is a reflection of our dedicated preparation and definable abilities.

My college lacrosse coach used to say … The game is just to see who did the work. The real win is earned in practice.

"“Dry fire is exceptionally beneficial and has been a highly encouraged and valued training strategy and essential task for as long as anyone alive can remember. It is a closed task that does not require you to focus on outside factors and is conducted in a stable environment so that you can concentrate on executing the specified movements precisely. This is done specifically for component skill development.”

Total respect for our WW11 veterans:

Hey. Did you get a chance to go to the Pacific museum yet?
I spent several hours and could have spent all day. It is top notch in my book.

One grandfather in the Navy in the Pacific Theater - so it was meaningful to me.
He was 33 and 2 babies when he volunteered.

I’m pretty sure my propensity to swear, quick temper, and fondness for bourbon all came from either his genetics or under his tutelage. Haha Old Cuss.

Yes, I did. What a humbling experience.

A sad state of readiness:

The fact is the pool of Americans aged 17-24 who are qualified and interested in serving continues to shrink. When I was secretary of the Army in 2018, 71% of these 34 million young people could not meet the military’s entry requirements due mostly to obesity, drug use, physical and mental health problems, and criminal misconduct. Four years later, that number is even higher. Further, of the 23% eligible to serve today, another 10% don’t meet the military’s academic standards. Worse, of the 3.5 million young Americans remaining, only 9% (~320,000) have a proclivity to serve. A nation of 332 million people should do better than that.

Two reasons for this are that kids are taught not to be critical of America but to hate America. Then you add in that they are raised with a sense of entitlement that is reinforced in schools.

Yes, I agree. You nailed it.

I have seen a lot of crime over my career, so much, that I am immune to most of its violence. Not this time. Whoever this is needs to be shot down like a rabid dog.
