Not sure they are “challenges” but moreso agreed lifts/feats to “make the board”. The first dozen or so should be easy:
Bwt bench press for reps
Dip bar dips for reps
Ring Dips for reps
Pull ups for reps
Chin ups for reps
1.5 x bwt. Deadlift for reps
1.5 x bwt. trap bar deadlift for reps
1.5 bwt squat for reps
push ups for reps
ring push ups for reps
box jump for height
standing broad jump
Top 3 results and you’re “on the board”.
Any chance of TNation buy-in here?

LOL what the ef is all this ring stuff and how the heck would someone do that broad jump? BTW, no one over 40 would have a snowballs chance in hell against me in a broad jump.
I have no interest in max rep stuff. But i would definitely be into lifts based off of one’s own BW. Max attempts aren’t that hard to judge. If there was some basic rules i feel that it would be easier to judge a one rep attempt over, say, 30 or 40 reps. Typically, with high rep sets, form goes to shit. IMO, a 2xBW bench is much more impressive than someone doing BW for reps. It took me much, much longer to get to a 2xBW bench than it did to get to repping 250lbs for 40-50 reps.

Just my opinion…take it for what it is.
unequipped 2x bwt bench presses are going to be pretty rare around here. and someone that can rep 250 for 40-50 reps rarer still.
anyway, my point all along was that if we consider max reps, there might as well be a damn PL contest. but oh wait, they already have those and guys here already compete.
so what do we have? a list of guys that can bench 2x bwt? how does one become king of the roost in such an endeavor.
i like the west side analogy of “getting on the board”. max lifts over the internet are just not practical due to relative weight considerations. would we run a “virtual” PL meet?
I see nothing wrong with powerlifters having a seeming advantage at some stuff and more conditioning/performance people seemingly having advantage at others and stuff in between. That is why I have suggested a range of targets. More people involved with more interests represented. It might be enlightening to put powerlifters vs bodybuilders vs oly folks vs throwers vs basement lodgers vs who ever. Maybe we could stop getting threads about weak bodybuilders and fat powerlifters and how crossfit saves lives and all the rest. Plus, we can confine questions about where and how to buy clothes for massive quads, etc. to the top three in the different challenges. Hell, what else are we going to talk about then? Nevermind.
Honestly I could care less about this thread or competition, to each his own, but I think it’s hilarious how your number of threads created so strongly outweighs your progress made.

No way in hell anyone posting on this board can bench 250lbs for 50 legit reps. Not happening.

x2 i’d be shocked if anyone can hit 20
I don’t know if I could do 50 “legit” reps with 135. But I’ve got 225 for 29, and there’s a lot stronger dudes on here than me.

Because we’d sign them as co-agents agents and take them to the NFL.

it’s the internet bro.
but my bench sucks and my best close grip max rep with 225 is 25 so I do think someone who is benching 500 MIGHT have a shot at it. And you do have to allow some form deviations when you’re talking all those reps. You’re def not locking every rep out. Frankly, if you touch to the chest and stop shy of lockout, that’s a good rep to me within this context.
just my opinion though.
but i think this thread illustrates that unfortunately something like this that could be interesting is just not doable. seems some people want it suited to their strengths.
as i said before, 1 rep maxes are utterly repetitive…we have PL contests for that. 1 rep maxes ought to be JUDGED at a meet. if there is a guy here that can do 100 dips at 220lbs I’d like to see that, for instance. but one rep max benches, squats or deadlifts? i can see that at any PL meet.
bwt. farmer walks for distance would have been good too.

as i said, my best close grip with 225 is north of 20 and my bench sucks.

yeah, there are stronger guys, but keep your perspective. 29 puts you in the upper echelon of the nfl combine bench test. not shabby company considering there are some big boys, in their prime.

The record at the NFL combine is 49 with 225… No way someone here is doing an extra rep with 25 more pounds on the bar. Not happening.
This had potential to be something fun but I should have known the thread would turn out this way and that it wouldn’t work out. Oh well

but yea, 50 reps at 250 is not happening.
lol seriously. That would make them considerably stronger than the strongest bencher in NFL combine history… Yeaaaaaaaaa
