The hearing is a joke because the whole thing was scripted beforehand and it just comes down to how well the relevant players read their part. Terrible way to rule a country.

I once got so drunk in Okinawa I let two strippers pull me up on stage and beat me with a studded belt (had bruises on my chest and stomach for two weeks), barfed out the window of a moving van, which was a terrible idea in hindsight, and ended up running around our barracks butt ass naked trying to find an open washing machine for my vomit covered clothes. And I remember every detail…

Oh I didn’t even watch it. Nor do I plan to. But every one of these Dem plays have stupidly less to lose than the GOP side. What’s gonna happen? They lose a majority in every division of govt?

The worst that could happens is that the Republican base is fired up to vote in record numbers, not saying this is likely, but not winning the house would be a disaster for the Democratic party.

Shitty situation. It’s tough to not believe such a credible accusor. Her story and memory are about what you’d expect from a victim in her situation. At the same time, i don’t think accusations without evidence should ruin a person… But it’s tough because IME the majority of rapes/sex assaults come down to a he said she said.
I want to know a reasoning for deciding that makes sense to me, and is fair to both victims and the falsely accused… But I haven’t come accross it yet.
It’s a midterm election. Which by default means the GOP will have better turnout. Dems are lazy as fuck unless someone’s running for POTUS.
Edit: also, ‘disaster’ is nowhere near reality. Not only do most predictions not show the Dems regaining the house, but it wouldn’t really matter. This whole event has shown the Dems don’t need control to stall. The GOP will just keep bitching out, even with a majority

I like to drink, I just don’t like to get drunk because I don’t like spinning and feeling bad. Get a nice buzz and maintain or drink some water or tea and go to bed.
And I have been really drunk, absolutely hammered, I just didn’t pass out. I couldn’t, every time I’d sit I would spin. So I had to walk around until it died down a bit.
They are invested in retaking the house. Failing to do so really weakens them in 2020 IMO.
