The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

He did it on purpose. If he wants to, he can explain why.

Try being called ā€œwhite adjacentā€, with none of the white benefits.

I experienced it intermittently, throughout my life, yet I have a different attitude than you.

Wrt your post, I would definitely not call Ron DeSantis racist.

I read the website you linked. It did not contain a syllabus, but a one-sentence description of the course.

The article I read stated that the course was rejected for being historically inaccurate and contrary to Florida Law, which more or less screams CRT to me.

I suppose we’ll learn more details soon, but this strikes me as another knee-jerk reaction to sound governance, much like the so-called Don’t Say Gay bill that was simply about not allowing sexual topics to be discussed in classrooms with small children.

CRT is just another flavor of social, cultural and intellectual poison that modern leftists want to indoctrinate children with, not unlike suggesting to the same children that they might be, can be and perhaps even should be members of the opposite sex.

CRT belongs in the trash heap of history, right next to Nazi’ism, KKK rants, Communism, Feudalism, Theocratic Despotism, et al. Teaching it as fact to children is a grave dereliction of duty by any adult teacher.

Also lacks a ā€œlanguageā€ aspect. Don’t want to sound racist, but

-anybody can BS their way through the ā€œcultureā€ part, it’s the language part that’s a pita to learn and study for and pass.

I say that knowing only what I’ve seen in this thread, so I could be way off base.

What kind of attitude do you have?

Like thinking minorities aren’t competent enough to get valid IDs to vote. Or that things like math are racist?

  1. Yes

  2. What kind of idiot thinks math is racist?

It’s a power thing, not a race thing.

And I don’t get BS’d by woke ā€œliberalsā€ or ā€œdemocratsā€ trying to pull the wool over my eyes. For instance, I would bet anything that in their heart of hearts, Biden is much more racist than DeSantis.

So how do we know CRT isn’t a buzzword excuse for banning African American History.

Texas moves in a similar fashion, why would something like this need to be deemed as unrequired.

I’m not going to dive into a trouthout.org article this late at night, but I can guarantee you that it is not giving you a very complete picture of whatever is happening in that situation, which I know absolutely nothing about. If there’s one thing you can count on from nearly any leftist rag in 2023, it is deception in some shape or form. By omission, by imagining motives, by vague euphemisms, or by plain old lies and bullshit. Truthout is, quite ironically, the best name they could give themselves. They definitely throw out the truth whenever it suits them.

There is almost certainly much more to the story, and I’d encourage you to seek out another source besides truthout.

Because America is one of the least racist nations on the planet today and the people who don’t want students to be able to study specific history topics like that are nearly nonexistent.

There are, however, quite a few of us who don’t want to indoctrinate our children into malicious and misguided ideologies, no matter what form they might take.

How much do you value the ability to make choices?

Plus, you know ā€œtheyā€ want to keep doling out the little fishes, so that ā€œyouā€ never learn to fish for yourself, right?

@SkyzykS As per your question, I value choices a lot. Ron Desantis is not giving anyone a choice with that course. The funny thing is, people aren’t forced to take AP courses, you pick the courses you want to take.

Are you saying liberals have an agenda to make minorities believe they are oppressed?

I probably butchered the interpretation

If you associate EBT with black people, it says something about how YOU see them.

You know what you did, I’m just aware of the stereotype.

Try being called an n word turned inside out.

Yeah, I accused you of being poor, not because you’re black (I’m assuming you are), but because you sound like you’re broke.

People that tell me my failures are due to my being oppressed are either looking down on me, or they want to keep me sucking at their teat, since (obviously) only they can help me through this ā€œoppressedā€ problem. Right now, the liberals are the ones pounding on that drum.

@twojarslave says that’s been the case throughout U.S. history, but I’m not enough of a student of history to say whether that’s true or not; although at first blush, the fact that all those racist old bastards that ran the South for the longest time were all ā€œdemocratsā€ speaks for itself.
