Considering that teachers and schools had begun to “transition” children without the consent of parents, or even informing them, I’m perfectly ok with the Parental Rights in Education bill as written.
Your LGBTQ friends may have been confused by the campaign of lies in the media surrounding the bill, more so than the bill itself.
When I was in school I don’t remember any of my teachers ever discussing their personal lives with us at all. I remember many of my teachers faces, even from grade school, and I’m 44 years old, but I couldn’t tell you if any of them were ever married or had kids of their own. For all I know they slept of cots behind their desks at night.
If they’re that concerned and confused about where the line between appropriate and inappropriate is, then maybe they should ere on the side of privacy and move on.
Aside from the Parental Rights in Education bill, anything else?
The STOP Woke Act
Bans discussions of certain topics or severely limits them even at the collegiate level. Topics at the collegiate level should not be banned in any way. I know many colleges are constantly banning “right wing” commentators from speaking and that shouldn’t be allowed either. These topics (homophobia/racism) can/should be discussed in a reasonable matter.
On a daily basis, I go to work, my kids’ schools, and home. My work prohibits carry of even pocket knives (it’s a bit of a loose rule on that one). So, unfortunately, it doesn’t make sense for me most days.
One of the number one recommendations For improving school safety, since Columbine 23 years ago was hardening school doors. Which would have saved lives at Sandy Hook and Uvalde. But that’s ok, we’ll just blame the guns and Alex Jones.
I agree with these. I saw someone also invented a door jamb security device that costs like $5 bucks to make and a teacher can deploy in seconds - basically makes it impossible to open the door without explosives.
At my wife’s school we drilled 1 inch wide by 12 inch deep holes in each classroom into the foundation and had steel rods fabricated for them. The doors are heavy thick steel too. They only open inwards - so all they have to do is drop that steel rod down in the hole and the classroom is sealed.
My wife hunted with long guns with her dad but shot her first handgun with me. She has an enhanced carry permit and she has even taken a handful of classes and fighting pistol classes. The best way I have found is to get her friend or sister if she has one into it too so they can shoot together.
Last time I got a reckless driving citation for going 10 over almost got arrested and the cop was a huge cocksucker.
Now, I drive around VA and will never spend another dime in the state as long as I live. If I find out a vendor or business is based there I also completely cut off all purchasing.
Don’t know where you got your ticket, but don’t go north of Charlottesville. If I had my way we would eject Arlington and Fairfax. It’s all a bunch of DC slime like Liz Cheney.
I take back what I said about Fairfax and Arlington. In ancient times when the old regime was hopelessly corrupt, great leaders would move the Capitol. I think we should give St. Louis a try. Let somebody else carry the burden of the parasite class.
