The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

Huh huh, you said stroke.

Stroke would have multiple meanings there.

Maybe more appropriate in the thread I started yesterday.

ā€œIt’s kinda worrying, when SWAT is in front of your house and you’re paying this kind of rent,ā€ Stephen Chambliss said.

Has to be a winner. It was a domestic hostage situation. What has the cost of your rent got to do with it?

I’m sure this is due to racism or something.

Gotta wonder how this would have played out in the media if the cop was white and did the same thing.

ā€œThis way, cast members that might not identify as female can still be part of the process to dress up & style the children without having to refer to themselves as a female Disney character,ā€ according to Disney blog"

Savvy move by Disney. They were missing out on a lot of business from parents who want a tattooed man in a dress putting princess makeup on their young daughters.

All of this progressive progress is really moving society ahead. What an exciting future we have!

I’m surprised more people aren’t identifying as White Christian Males, considering all the priviledges it gives.

It’s all make believe. They aren’t fairy godmothers nor are they apprentices to fairy godmothers. It’s like how most of them live their real lives.

The one it doesn’t give is perpetual victimhood.

Wasn’t sure what thread to put this in, the Things That Piss You Off one, or this one, but here.
Someone gave our daughter a White doll. How do we, um, ā€˜disappear’ it? (msn.com)

I know the whole ā€œwhat if they were the other colorā€ arguments are garbage, but this is straight up racism - and parents pushing it onto their kids at that. City blocks would have burned had this been the other way around… this shit irritates the fuck out of me; kids don’t give a damn what color you are - they just want to be friends with everyone.

Identity politics pisses me off.

Representation has been shown to boost self-esteem. I think the parents are doing a great thing by exposing their child to media/toys that look like them.

To say cities will burn if it were the other way around is utterly ridiculous.

This is not what they are doing. They are exposing their child only to toys that look like them. It is, by definition, excluding dolls that don’t look like them. Their problem with the toy is specifically that it’s white.

If I wanted to throw away my daughters’ only black doll, that would sound racist (and rightfully so). All I’m asking is that the same standard apply across the board.

Throwing away a white doll that was given to your daughter isn’t the same as ā€œexposing their child to media/toys that look like them.ā€ You can do the latter without freaking out over a white doll.

True, I can see where the parents are coming from though

So if the article said

We’ve also been intentional with buying her white dolls and toys. White is always the preference, but we’ve made exceptions. (Her Moana blanket is still a favorite.) Black dolls, though? We haven’t officially banned them. There is no sign on our stoop saying ā€œNo Dogs or Black Barbies.ā€ But if we’re at a store, and the only dolls for sale are Black, we’ll just be leaving doll-less that night.

That this understandable?

Let’s call a ball, a ball and a strike, a strike.

The article didn’t say that though
