The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

Well, if it’s on social media - you know it MUST be true!

I will never understand people who would take time out of their day to complain about a fictional lgbtq character.

That’s a strange metric. By the time of my childhood we had many openly gay high profile people who were beloved by the general public. Hate crimes were not widespread enough to prevent artists like Boy George, Elton John, George Michael and Rob Halford from becoming multi platinum. Ru Paul had a show on MTV.

Nobody has given a shit what anyone does to get their rocks off for a long time.

Nothing about the story in question is fictional. It is being taught to children who cannot critically interpret new information by a public school teacher - meaning this is taxpayer funded. For the same reasons why public schools cannot teach creationism, they also cannot teach ideologically motivated ideas on gender.

ESPECIALLY not to children that are not theirs.

I have to disagree with that twojar, I believe there is still a huge bigotry problem. I shall now list these quotes that are totally not from Wikipedia that kinda makes my argument look bad but not really cause Wikipedia has sources for these quotes but then again when people list sources in an argument someone will list a source stating opposite information so whatever… (Ignore that)

Now I don’t believe anyone’s their orientation could limit their “success” but, my argument is that society’s treatment of lgbtq is the reason why their suicide rate is high.

“ Numerous studies have shown that lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth have a higher rate of suicide attempts than do heterosexual youth. The Suicide Prevention Resource Center estimated that between 5 and 10% of LGBT youth, depending on age and sex groups, have attempted suicide, a rate 1.5-3 times higher than heterosexual youth.”

“LGBT students are three times as likely as non-LGBT students to say that they do not feel safe at school (22% vs. 7%) and 90% of LGBT students (vs. 62% of non-LGBT teens) have been harassed or assaulted during the past year.”

Do you think these increasingly bad outcomes might coincide with the dramatically increasing number of young people being coerced into this identity crisis lifestyle and the methods used by modern activists?

I have no doubt much of what I’ve written is perceived as anti LGBTQ, hateful and bullying. I wasn’t saying it in the 1990s because nobody was trying to trans the kindergartners.

I wonder whether there’s any other explanation for these statistics…

You don’t think this might be because their whole identity is a mental disorder to begin with? Like bipolar people have a higher suicide rate than non-bipolar people.

Yes and no. I believe these increasingly bad outcomes are due to bullying. The deeper problem would be found looking into the reasons as to why the lgbtq community is being bullied. The main gimmick of the lgbtq community is based off of one thing, gender. There will be men who like men, women who like women, and even people who define themselves as gender fluid. Because of what these people do, they could receive threats, be harassed, perhaps even be ostracized. The questioning should be directed more-so to the bullies, not the people who are being bullied. I believe that humans fear what they do not understand and as far as gender is concerned, humans conform to what society, culture, or even religion defines as gender roles for men and women.

This is not necessarily a negative thing as a beautiful relationship and ideals can exist in a USA gender role defined man or woman. But, when looking at USA gender roles, a man is supposed to be in love with a woman and no other way around. There are even gender roles assigned to colors, for example black, blue, and green would typically be seen as masculine. Anything that does not conform to these role is seen as suspect or weird. The color pink is seen as a feminine color. The strange thing is that society defined this color as feminine, but ultimately it’s really just a color like the color green or blue. The only reason it is defined as feminine is because that’s what society conforms to.

Perhaps maybe it is in a human’s nature to be a control freak hence why they would bully someone who does not conform to these rules. Rules of society always seemed to change throughout history, what was once seen as normal, is not normal and vice versa. Same sex marriage used to be illegal but now it is legal. Although legal, society still has work to do in accepting lgbtq people. It is not the lgbtq lifestyle that is the issue but societies refusal to dissociate from gender norms. You call it a mental disorder only because it does not fit your definition of normal. As for transgendering kids, it is justified to be against that but, it is harmful to depict there lifestyle as a mental illness. You disregard how people could fall into depression not living in the lgbtq life style or if their depression/anxiety is caused by societal influences such as parents or peers.

If we accept this as true, which I don’t, what is the fix? I can give you the mainstream Democrat answer to this, which is to “normalize” LGBTQ lifestyles to young children. Hence the rabid opposition to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill, aka “Don’t say gay”. It is backwards, perverse logic that is resulting in shocking, dramatic numbers of children arriving at the conclusion that they are somewhere on the LGBTQ spectrum.

Of course, the great irony of this is that progressives have fought tooth and nail to “normalize” a destructive lifestyle for generations now, resulting in statistically impossible numbers of people attaching themselves to this identity crisis that I believe is simply a phase for most.

The LGBTQ mental health crisis among young people is man-made by decades of increasingly radical policies and practices advanced by progressives. Again, we had no trans suicide epidemic in the 1990’s. This is not unlike Joe Biden speaking in front of a banner that has the gall to say he’s working to lower the costs and tackle inflation that his policies are responsible for.

I think there may be another reason the color pink is considered feminine…

This is a form of bullying and emotional blackmail.

If you don’t defer to my internal notions of self I will kill myself.

“I support anyone’s right to be who they want to be. My question is: to what extent do I have to participate in your self-image?” - Dave Chappelle

Maybe so in some cases but I’d rather no person kill themself over a lifestyle that has little to no effect on me.

I’d rather no person kill themselves over being subjected to a lifestyle that was pushed upon them while they were children.

So we’re in agreement cool dude. No one dying either way is the right way to go.

Yes, so refraining from pushing children into lifestyles which have an average 40% suicidal rate should be a more important issue for you.

It’s not the lifestyle that’s the problem it’s what people think of the lifestyle that’s the problem. Most do not like the lifestyle.

That has not been proven in any study whatsoever. This is your opinion and you are failing to realize this.

Gender dysphoria is a mental disorder. If you had a relative who had dementia, would you be cheering them on saying “I support you and your visions!”? or would you try to get them to professionals for help?

Like I said, would rather these people stay alive even if they’re in an lgbtq lifestyle. Also, gender dysphoria is not dementia, kinda weird to compare the two.

I’m going to pick on you just for being young here, but this is part of the growing trend towards self-centered, neurotic beliefs that seems to get amplified in a social media world. It is not up to you to prevent a gender-confused person from killing themselves, or anyone for that matter. You don’t have that kind of power as a person. That doesn’t mean you should be cruel to anyone, but it doesn’t mean you should walk around on eggshells all of the time out of fear that a mis-step might cause someone’s death.

I spent a great deal of time, heart and even money trying to help my teenage friends not be self-destructive junkies intent on killing themselves with their lifestyle choices. I believed I was going to be the one to save them and that their well-being depended on my efforts. I was the smart one of the bunch, after all. Surely they’d listen to me.

Many dead friends later, I learned that it had absolutely nothing to do with me.

Also because you’re young, you probably have an easier time focusing your mental energy on staying on top of everyone’s various pronouns and deferring to their internal notions of self, assuming this is the sort of behavior you believe to be virtuous. You may have even been educated to do so. If so, that’s totally fine with me. Your choice.

What isn’t totally fine with me is expecting other people to neurotically focus on something as silly as a pronoun. What’s not fine with me is using school time to explain why it is important to reflect on some navel-gazing person’s bizarre notions of self, let alone suggesting to children that they might be, can be and even should be members of the opposite sex.

Long story short, nobody is THAT special. Not you, not me, not the furry gay guy in the dorm next door, not the genderqueer polysexual satanist working at the book store. You’re all boring AF, get over yourselves and stop demanding special treatment!

Literally no one has argued for people dying because they’re LGBT. No one.

Also no one has argued that we should be treating them differently.

I’m arguing that this illness shouldn’t be perpetuated via ELEMENTARY SCHOOL teachers. Kids that age don’t give a shit if your white, brown, yellow black or green, they don’t care about your religion and they sure as fuck don’t care about your sexual identity (like they even know what that is) or pronouns (because they don’t even know what a fucking pronoun is).

I truly don’t understand why this position seems unusual to you, and frankly as someone who claims “[it’s] too early for me to think about having children”, I don’t understand what dog you have in this fight. Your opinion is misguided by your youth, which could only be overcome by a parental status of which you do not have.
