Really? Like, you think charging(I mean “taxing”) $1,000,000 to carry a sign around on the sidewalk outside of the courthouse would be unconstitutional?
It should be abolished because the federal government has zero(0) right to regulate the possession of arms.
Seems that way to me.
Guarantee that some people believe(not that they’re dumb enough to actually believe such, but uppity enough to believe they can pull the wool over the eyes of rubes) such a tax goes along with free market principles. “Ya might have the right to possess arms, but you don’t have the right to afford them….hahahahahahahaha.”
People that believe this and would want to force that on everyone else are dangerous.
Mainly the side that went from arguing the nonexistent constitutionality of abortion rights to denying the constitutionality of the literal 2nd amendment in less than a month.
I think everyone that votes should be required to pay a 1,000$ fee per year for a voter ID card. I’d argue voting is far more dangerous than a gun could ever imagine being.
I don’t think anyone needs that to be implied. A gun is obviously a weapon with the main purpose of causing harm (or death) or the threat of it
The issue with that is changes in gun regulations or laws will only affect law abiding citizens and not people like the school shooter. It’s been said the guns could be acquired illegally but even if a would be school shooter is unable to get a gun they could still go on a stabbing spree, home made bomb/ petrol bomb, mow down a line of kids waiting for the bus etc
The only reason the original purpose is viewed as outdated (by some) is because the right exists. Prior to Covid restrictions in the UK a lot of military vehicles were seen and (false) rumours came out that the military was called in to enforce a lockdown. If the rumours were true there is nothing we could have done. If the US government wanted to call in the military the right to bear arms means they would think twice.
I agree this. Teachers should be armed.
I wouldn’t be surprised if parents start taking things into their own hands and creating group were a few parents volunteer daily to be on school grounds and armed incase their kids are in trouble
People who fit this description need to educate themselves on the Tianamen Square Massacre… it’s a prime example of what happens when peaceful protesting gets shut down by an overbearing government via tanks and automatic weapons.
The right to bear arms and formulate a well regulated militia has nothing to do with defense against a person; it is for the defense against a tyrannical regime.
Liberal fucktards: “But you don’t need aSaUlT rIfLeS”
Meanwhile the govt could stroll down main street in an M1A1 with hellfire missile support via Predator drone and an F35 that can paint a target for nearby naval vessels to shell at will.
ANYONE who thinks further regulating guns is the solution is willfully ignorant about the past abuses of citizens without guns. Keep pretending that if we restrict guns just a little more each mass shooting, that it won’t eventually lead to uncle sam coming for your guns when it’s convenient for them though.
Nuh uh man. Inalienable rights can be done away with at the whims of people’s emotions and feelings. Didn’t you know?
The constant irony is also lost on them. It is always the crowd that wants police disarmed and cancelled calling for guns to be taken away from citizens because they are too dangerous. But, all they would be doing is ensuring the government is the only one to have weapons. And that sure has turned out well across history.
If you don’t want to own a gun, that is cool. I have no issue with that. What I do have an issue with is people imposing their will on me over some fucked up sense of self-righteousness or illusion of “safety”.
And racist and bigotry, but somehow removing the ability for the poor and often minorities that live in statistically more dangerous areas for crime to protect themselves - isn’t.
Nope. I see voting as necessary and see it as an important and basic right to have a hand in choosing your leaders and societal policies and access should not be restricted despite how low my opinion is of my fellow countryman. Voting can be harmful, but it takes time and has numerous checks and balances to overcome before becoming harmful. Guns can be acutely harmful and a single person can have an oversized impact with them. I’d like to see more checks and balances in place to own firearms. I’d even support govt subsidized firearm supply and training, as long as the checks/balances to ownership were beefed up to better ensure quality people were able to buy guns legally.
If you pay attention to them, you’ll realize that their complaint is really that firearms exist at all. They realize they can’t put that cat back in the bag, so they’re left grasping at straws. They typically haven’t thought about mass killings pre-firearms, so they don’t realize firearms just even the playing field somewhat.
Some of the ones I listed above, along with other ones that other folks think up which sound good to me. Any ideas on additional checks, etc? How about if you haven’t voted in the last 4 years, no guns for you.
Gotta love it. Shot and wounded officers outside, but other officers were supposed to barge into the school and allow themselves to be killed-assuming the school in question is set up like every school I’ve ever been in, they’d be faced with one “fatal funnel” after another, in addition to the fact that they’d then be exchanging gunfire in a school so probably not a huge help. The “go in immediately” policy was put in place because many of the high profile mass shooters had killed themselves as soon as faced with a challenge; obviously, this guy didn’t do that.
How about if you don’t own any guns, no vote for you?
There are already background checks on every gun sale (unless you sell a personal gun to your neighbor Bob). What do you think should be added to this list?
