The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

I inherited nothing.

I did have some good counsel though.

My father in law owned a mid size trucking company for 45 years.

City or County?

City.

I can’t find the article, but I read yesterday about some right-wing artist defacing a painting. He’s obviously a troll and says he uses she/her pronouns (although he has a beard and dresses as a man) because, like me, he identifies as a lesbian trapped in a man’s body. The pathetic publication actually referred to him as her and she throughout the article. These people are so insane.

What is a house and buying vehicles.

I have 2 apartments one is 60 sqm, the other one is 100 sqm. And I just purchased a new Corolla hybrid. I make 1 to 1.5 EUR per month. And I have no debt. Am I rich? I dont feel like it, because just got back from Kaufland and Lidl with a shopping list from their promotions made from my wife.

150k even in USD per year is not that bad. And is definitely way above average. Not an AOC fan.
But I had to micro manage my finances for 15 years to get 2 apartments and a new car without debt. With 150k a year you would need 5 years at most in most places.

I think 50 cent said it best. (Paraphrasing)

ā€œYou aren’t really wealthy until you are making money while sleeping / not working.ā€

Rich is relative to a point. If you have no debt and can purchase things in cash, especially in America - you are above most folks. 150K definitely isn’t bad, but it isn’t ā€œgood moneyā€ or wealthy either. It can be a starting point to increase wealth though for sure, if invested right.

This post has so much EU in it I need a translator. Square Meters? 1-1.5 EUR/mo? Kaufland? Lidl?

It’s like trying to compare gas mileage from standard to metric cars… YOU try comparing what 28mpg means in liters per kilometer.

150k a year will do you very well in a lot of areas within the US, and most common folk would consider you rich. But there are areas (san francisco, LA, NYC, Maryland) that you would be poor if you only made 150k yearly, so it’s extremely relative. Also, taxes are wildly different from EU to US, along with the entire cost of living… still only makes it harder to compare.

ā€œA man is rich in proportion to the number of things which he can afford to let aloneā€ Thoreau

If you don’t want much, it’s not hard to have it.

True, and I don’t judge anyone that has less. If you are happy, that is all that really matters.

Everyone has different goals. My main goal being to setup an ā€œEmpireā€ that my children can take over and have an easier life than I had.

56 mpg is like 4 liters per 100 km. So 45 is like 8.5l?

EUR is slightly higher than USD. Kaufland and LIDL are German grocery brands in most of Europe. Something like you Walmart I guess.

So are you saying you make literally 1 - 1.5 euros per month or am I misunderstanding something here?

My car gets 40 rods to the hogs head and that’s the way I like it!

Obviously the whole thing is a bit of a joke, but the way that the original guy explains it, if you find yourself with a woman that looks good and isn’t crazy, she’s probably a dude. Obviously that means he isn’t actually hot. It’s just that when you find yourself in that situation, alarm bells should go off.

I’m sure this has been posted before but I think this is the original video and it’s worth a look!

it is 1000 to 1500 sorry to be such an European. It is not only taxation and cost of living. Cost of living is almost equal everywhere if we exclude housing, be it rent or mortage. Where I come from you can purchase the majority of property relatively cheap if you stay out of the major cities. For example I bought my last 100 sqm apartment at about 25000 EUR and completely renovated and furnished it like a 4 star hotel for another 15 000 EUR.

Taxation is a different animal. I am only paying 25 % from my gross salary as taxes, while itbis over 50 I believe in USA. VAT here is about 20 % fot most goods and services.

I don’t understand how police just let him run into a school after engaging him.

The 18 year old kid had an expensive high end AR, body armor, and seemingly some training. And he somehow got into an elementary school with ease with police engaging him?

Maybe like the parkland shooting? I don’t know much about this, but maybe they saw the AR and body armor and figured they would rather lose their jobs than their lives?

Cowardly if so, but understandable as something a human would do.

Again, I only have heard the basic details (how many killed, age of shooter, location) of this terrible event.

Where are you getting this?
