The really low earners I think would get EITC and some other form of welfare.
Maxing out the EITC requires about 20K of income, and you wouldn’t qualify with $30K of income.

That works well for the low, low earners, but doesn’t benefit lower middle or solidly middle earners. I’d like to bolster their spending power…yes, at the expense of the higher earners saving power.
So, expand the EITC up to, say, 60k individual, or 100k household and I’d like it more.
That is why I’d like it to be expanded and have state level programs.
When Apple says iPhone would cost $7 more to produce $1000 item in the US or Nike sells $150 shoes needs that extra $5 profit gained by Vietnamese children laborers rather American adults… whatcha gonna do? There are some companies willing to share profits like this mondo gas station (100 pumps), but most physical workers are underpaid imo.
I wholeheartedly agree.
I was just saying that I don’t want a career in tech, which is where this evolution of the job market seems to be going. Jobs still available? Cool. All in tech? No thanks, haha.
The trades should be safe for at least another generation. Healthcare too.
The only thing UBI can accomplish is inflation.
First all these money the supper rich have, they do not exist. If you transfer them and give them as cash the market will be flooded with money and every good or service will cost more. Just like with the cash that was given with Covid. In EU the banks are now trying to limit the cash on the market to combat inflation.
Second. People will have no incentive to work. You obviously havent lived under communism. Nobody works, nobody gets paid and there is no progress and economy.
You never know what sort of curveball life can throw at you. You can be handling all 124 of your illegal pet snakes one day and the next thing you know, you’re dead from a snakebite out of nowhere.
I have to assume he’s being facetious?
I have to assume you are not familiar with the guy. I wasn’t, before someone that used to post on this board brought him up all the time. There is no bigger piece of dog excrement than Boot.
The most surprising thing to me was this did not occur in Florida.
Just because it’s but reported doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen … in Florida

The fact-checkers have finally fact-checked Biden and called him out for his most eggregious lie yet!

It was pretty bad, if only for its being obviously and totally untrue.
If Trump had said this exact same thing, BLM would be rioting in Portland, Rachel Maddow would have found 12 ways to frame this as a white supremacist thing, and Nancy Pelosi would have already drafted an impeachment speech.
You think? I’m not sure about all of that. It would be playing into their hands, so I think they may applaud him for it…
Now, if he’d said something like, “Abortion was prohibited when the U.S. was founded…” I think they would do exactly as you’ve said.
Agreed. I think that it is often overlooked that many of the things that most people want exist in the real world. When the infrastructure works seamlessly, it’s easy to forget this because it seems that the digital world is able to supply the physical things we want. But we would do well to remember that it’s really the physical infrastructure that is supplying the physical things that we want. And that physical infrastructure requires real physical maintenance.
I work in what would probably be considered a technical field (electrical engineering), but much of my job consists of making things physically work even when they should theoretically work.
Let’s get drunk and fuck with Mike Tyson. That should be fun.
