The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

You are a dishonest person. I get that you are upset that you posted a meme that everyone except for you interpreted correctly but that doesn’t mean you should lie.

Why is it irrelevant when you brought it up in the first place? You said white men are running things, I said that it is wealthy white men. You don’t even disagree but suddenly have decided it isn’t relevant.

Why even ask that question in such a way? The fact that I stated I believe using the term white culture to describe western culture is silly and historically inaccurate should have answered that question for you.

But are anecdotes the truth? Want a trend? Look what Yale has decided to do with the English department. Students can end up never reading Shakespeare. Imagine a Yale graduate who never read Shakespeare. This was all in response to a petition from students.

You ask for this data yet you never provided any data on women walking the streets in fear of getting raped. And I think you are the one who is confused about the word genuinely. Look up the definitions. Note that was in the plural. Synonyms include, sincerely, authentically, honestly and absolutely.

You have asked women? OK, so what because aren’t those just anecdotes?

Ask anyone who specializes in rape prevention for women what behaviors should be avoided. I have taught rape prevention but I don’t care to share those details with a liar and more importantly a liar who challenged my understanding of English. So I suggest, if you want me to continue responding to you, that you stop being dishonest and apologize for saying I misused the word genuinely.

I gotta say, I feel very confident in my interpretation of the meme. In fact, I would go so far as to say I am 100% certain my interpretation is correct. Of course, I don’t expect you (or anyone else) to accept my confidence as evidence of anything.

Your sidebar concerning wealth was, and still is, irrelevant (to my point).

Because you have posted a series of contradictory statements concerning the relationship between white culture and Western culture. I was trying to understand your position.

Anecdotes can certainly be true. Not sure what it means to ask if they are ‘the truth.’ Either way, anecdotes are of extremely limited usefulness in discussions concerning generalities.

That is another anecdote, not a trend.

I presented no data because the purpose of the meme does not involve making an empirical claim. If you understood the meme, this would be obvious to you.

None of these buttress your position; they only support mine.

Let me make sure I understand you here. You’re criticizing me for stating that I had asked women about rape, when that statement on my part was made in response to your suggestion that I should ask them? To wit:

What “anyone” has to say on the subject is of little interest to me. But your comment sounded like you were veering into ‘blame the victim’ territory, which is why I asked about the behaviors to which you were referring.

I am puzzled and amused by this suggestion. Genuinely.

Again, you are a dishonest person and an intellectual coward. This will be my final response to you on this subject because I think you are a weirdo.

I did not post contradictory statements about white culture and western culture. That’s you being deliberately obtuse and I can only assume it’s because you are trying to subtlety imply that I am a racist. I also think you don’t know what the word contradictory means. Or you do and you are simply lying again.

If you were an honest person and not some weirdo interested in winning the internet you would admit that you were wrong about my use of the word genuinely. I will point out that you didn’t say I was wrong this time but you are so invested in winning you can’t admit that I wasn’t wrong. If you were an honest person and not a liar you would just asked which meaning of the word genuinely I was using but no, you had to make a snarky comment.

The fact you interpreted my comments as “veering into blame the victim territory” when I never said anything of the sort tells me that you read posts through a particular filter trying to find triggers. I didn’t fall for your trap either. And yes, you were trying to trap me and you revealed that just now. You wanted to know what behaviors I was referring to so you could turn around and say I was blaming the victim. I bet your response would have been framed like this: “So you are saying the woman is at fault?” The old statement with a question a mark; an accusation and a question at the same time. This is the same way you wanted to pounce on me because of the white culture/western culture statements I made. I posted that I don’t even believe in the concept of white culture but you couldn’t give it up. You couldn’t admit you read my posts on that matter incorrectly. I never said they were the same thing, that’s just your filter confusing your ability to comprehend English. And you tried, like a weasel, to call me a racist and white nationalist but lacked the courage to just come out and say it; you just dropped a hint. That makes you a dirt bag.

You aren’t funny or cute, just a weird adult who posted a rape culture meme. You are also a genuine liar and I mean that genuinely. Posters like you, with your snide remarks and subtle accusations, are one reason why posters leave.

Finally, the meme you posted was ridiculous and false. If you genuinely believe that women are walking around in genuine fear of getting genuinely raped, as that meme genuinely suggests, then you genuinely live in a postmodernist neo-Marxist fantasy land.

Have I used the word genuine and its derivatives correctly? How about weasel, liar and dirt bag? I assume you have a lot of experience with those words.

BTW, for anyone who thinks I’m wrong to call ED a liar, here’s an example of his dishonesty:

Me:I did not say white culture and western culture are the same thing.
ED: You said “white male culture, aka western culture.” So in fact, that’s exactly what you said.

Actually what I said was SO-CALLED white male culture. Why did he leave the “so-called” out? By using that qualifier I’m saying that it is inappropriately called white male culture. But before that he posted:

ED: The fact that you think these two terms are ‘aka’ is very telling.

Like I said a weasel trying to make accusations of racism but too cowardly to just openly say it.

I read this far and no farther. As your personal attacks and name-calling have grown tiresome, I don’t think I’ll be reading your comments going forward.

Kevin Spacey apparently sexually harassed some dude in 86’ and has announced he’s decided to be 100% gay.

This is hilarious, though

yea I read this this morning - I always thought it was common knowledge Spacey was gay. Is his orientation secret a bit like Barry Manilow’s? Like everyone KNEW but he never like said anytihng official? The whole “coming out” statements are strange to me … not sure why

Ya, the whole thing is weird.

The funny thing is how Hollywood liberals will condemn Trump for not being able to refrain from commenting on Twitter about everything that enters his mind. I think they need to take their own advice. These people are now apologizing for things they don’t even remember happening. And given what we know about the human memory, it tends to provide us with an edited version of events, who knows if the accusations are actually true as stated, if even true at all.

Gay get out of jail free card… A good standup could do a whole bit on that concept alone.

I could get behind banning Trump and Hollywood from tweeting.

I predict a Gillespie victory.

That happening would not be a “positive predictor” for the Dems in 2018.

Most certainly not.

And House of Cards has been canceled…

A 30-year-old allegation put probably hundreds out of work. Fan-fucking-tastic.

Fuck, Really…

Not sure I’ve ever felt bad for Obama before today… Poor bastard.

Wouldn’t they need to just throw him out of any potential jury pool? That would make for a distraction and the defense could go for a mistrial just because the former president was on the jury.

I can only imagine what the defense could argue with him on the jury.

I’m sure the only reason it’s printed in the Times is for pro-Bam publicity. Because you know, Obama POTUS best POTUS and all that…

edit: stand vs jury

They’ll excuse him. I remember a story about Dubya showing up for court a few years back and being excused.
