The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

Without a police department, wealthy areas would soon hire people to patrol. Middle class areas would likely do so as well(possibly with help from the wealthy for whom they work). Poor neighborhoods would suffer, as they’d be left to fend for themselves…and possibly isolated. Isolated ghettos? Crazy. Can’t think of any time progressive policies have ever produced anything like that.

And who would those “cops” answer to? If they racially profile or commit what we would now call police brutality, what will people do? Call the cops? Or will they call social workers?

The people paying them.

Their employers probably won’t mind, so long as they keep their neighborhoods safe. Others will either stay away from or behave while in the wealthy neighborhood. There will also be bitching about the formation of isolated ghettos as a result of the policies supported by those supported by the residents of said isolated ghettos.

I’m sure some 20-something white girls will be in a hurry to respond to complaints in a ghetto isolated from law-abiding armed men.

I’m talking about people complaining about the private police. Who can they call?

The people that don’t want them(those complaining about the police) in their neighborhoods. That should work out well for them.

I don’t think anyone is advocating for private security forces. The point is that if you get rid of the police, you end up with private security forces for those who can afford them and that is far worse for everyone. Asking who the private security will answer to when they get abusive is precisely the rhetorical question that leads to the conclusion that police are good.

I don’t doubt that there are people out there who would prefer this.

I doubt it would be worse for “everyone”…mainly just those that bitch(through representatives/community organizers/people using contributions to move out of the ghetto/whatever) about police officers now while frequently calling for free service from them. It’d probably be about the same or better for those in the neighborhoods that could afford service.

What’s amazing is how people, adults, thought electing someone with the intellect, education, and emotional maturity of a high school student to an office that gives him some degree of influence not only over the nation, but the world, was a good idea.

Not only is he under-educated and inexperienced at life but he has lied about his past, which is nothing new when it comes to politicians, but in his case the past is yesterday. But good for him, he can enjoy the money grab while it lasts, along with AOC and the other unemployable opportunists who see a political career as a way to avoid getting a real job. Particularly, the real job they are qualified for which in this guy’s case would be something in the mall.

Yep. Also, hasn’t the mechanism for the feds to go door to door been active for quite some time? It’s called United States Postal Service.

I was reading this from Isaiah 3, a couple of weeks back. While it is written to Israel and Judah, l was struck by the similarity to today.

4 “I will give children[c] to be their princes,
And [d]babes shall rule over them.
5 The people will be oppressed,
Every one by another and every one by his neighbor;
The child will be insolent toward the [e]elder,
And the [f]base toward the honorable.”

12 As for My people, children are their oppressors,
And women rule over them.
O My people! Those who lead you [i]cause you to err,
And destroy the way of your paths.”

Maybe this will sound like I’m old but, when I look at my generation and the generations before me, and then look at millennials and gen z, I think the younger generations are more accepting of authoritarianism and totalitarianism. They are more conformist and intolerant, and it seems like they would easily be turned into fascist douchebags.

I really don’t see much fundamental difference between this Cawthorn clown and AOC. They are both children.

Cubans are being beaten and fired upon by their govt (some waving American flags l read) protesting for freedom.

Americans (sic) are wearing Che, Mao, Castro shirts protesting in favor of
taking away freedom.

Ze - she actually seems more prepared. Whew never thought l would say that about someone l detest with a raging passion.

Agree. As an amateur student of American history, I see the constant erosion of our society. I know this will get a lot of hate responses, but, IMHO, the first mistake was eliminating the military draft. We no longer have any semblance of a martial society, no sense of serving the country, or appreciation of what the country has given you. IMHO, everyone , male or female, who is physically capable should spent at least 3 months in military training. You don’t like it, fine, pull your 3 months and get out, others, it may provide a much needed direction in their lives. As an added bonus, it may force traitorous scum who call our flag racist to seek more freedoms in Iran, China, or North Korea.

You sound like a fascist.

People who pay attention can see how they labeled their intolerance as tolerance. It used to be if you said you are free to believe what you want to believe, you were tolerant, but now, if you tolerate someone’s belief that goes against the woke orthodoxy, you are intolerant.

If not that, some form of public service. Carrying a BLM sign does not count. Maybe, if some of these selfie taking “activists” spent some time in the communities among the people on whose behalf they are protesting, they would see that it takes more than gestures to solve real issues.
