The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

I not saying keep a rope handy in case you see someone on a horse with a brand on it. But dude killed 10 people or cases where this is their x time in for murder.

Execute them and be done with it.

This is where I fall down on it too. No one is going to convince me that it was more just to imprison Fred West or Peter Sutcliffe than it would have been to put the mad dogs down.

The fact that this extraordinary power is final should mean you use it sparingly, but it doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be used at all.

It’s definitely a thorny issue though.

What should be the consequences if it turns out the court was wrong?

If the mistake was made with the best intentions, possibly none, unless there was some additional safeguard that could have prevented the mistake.

If it was made due to prosecutorial misconduct or bad behaviour on the part of the state? Rain down on the bad actors like the fist of an angry God.

The state sees your suggestion, and counters with ā€œhow about a slap on the wristā€.

This part is one I lack an answer to. If I could ensure that it was always serious and well meaning people that were in politics and the law, I’d be a wizard.

This report has caused quite the reaction from the race demagogues in the U.K., who seek to import the US race problem to the U.K.

Their grift is further complicated by the fact that the chief author is a black man, who’ve they’ve quickly dubbed an Uncle Tom.

Chaps, I’m begging you, can you please keep your ā€˜academicsā€˜ from publishing their critical race theory pablum in English? It’s barely readable English anyway, but could you run it through wingdings or something before it gets to the University of Warwickshire?

Hunter Biden told CBS News in an interview clip released on Friday that he has ā€œno idea whether or notā€ the laptop belongs to him, but acknowledged that it was ā€œcertainlyā€ a possibility, before raising several other theories.

ā€œThere could be a laptop out there that was stolen from me,ā€ Hunter Biden said in the interview. ā€œIt could be that I was hacked. It could be that it was the – that it was Russian intelligence. It could be that it was stolen from me. Or that there was a laptop stolen from me.ā€

Heh.

Actual lol. This is some mighty fine dissembling.

ā€˜I’m not saying there is a laptop, there possibly is. What I am saying is that it’s not mine, unless it is, in which case, it was stolen, or it’s Russians. I’m glad I could clear this up so we can put this story behind us.’

This is most probable. I hope we can send some ignorant kids that just graduated high school over there to die for nothing…I mean, fight for truth, justice, and the American way.

Well, in fairness, it’s not possible for him to be sure that the laptop is his. Even if there is a laptop that he can’t account for, he wouldn’t know for sure that the laptop the FBI has is the one.

On the other hand, if he wasn’t missing a laptop, he could say definitively that the laptop the FBI has was never his. Since he can’t say that, smart money is on the laptop being real.

In the States, a study from Harvard, I believe, found that there was no bias against blacks in police shootings. The study was done by a black man. I think he admitted that he went into it expecting to find bias but he couldn’t and had the academic integrity to publish his findings regardless of the narrative we have been fed.

One has to admire people who will stick with the truth even when it’s inconvenient.

We’ve gone from I will represent these people to they can fuck off I guess.

ā€œEven though my constituents voted for this lie, I’m going to protect them,ā€ he said. ā€œI am proud to stand against the will of the people.ā€

Have any idea where you saw that? I can dig deeper later but I don’t think I found it off my quick Google search. Didn’t try very hard yet though.

The amount of money made in the health, wellness, beauty type businesses is insane. We’re ā€œallā€ trying to be in better shape, healthier, sexier, etc. And we will buy all sorts of snake pills, creams, elixirs, etc to do it.

It’s so nuts because we essentially know exactly the best ways to do these things proven over time. But exercise, eating healthy, avoiding smoking, etc all take some willpower and discipline. So we will spend billions of dollars trying to do whatever we can to find an easier way out of something that’s already easy.

Sounds like socialism to me.
