Sure, that works if you think the actual pandemic is the actual problem. People don’t realize that authoritarianism doesn’t happen for no reason. Authoritarian despots, I think it’s safe to call them that now, are telling you you cannot even have Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Witmer, Cuomo, Newsome, Lightfoot, etc. Are all telling people that they cannot have family celebrations in their homes. I don’t know if people will listen, I certainly hope not. Pelosi damn sure isn’t listening.
It’s just weird to me that they want to lock you down and not let you step into the sunshine without a mask. But they can gather in numbers, share bottles of wine with strangers, and of course they pull their mask down to take the sip, but then order you to lock up and nobody even bat’s an eye. Talk about sheep, talk about bootlicking… If listening to these hypocrites isn’t being a sheep, if obeying these assholes unquestioningly isn’t bootlicking, I don’t know what is.
I would encourage everybody unite and defy everything these despots request. If lockdowns work, why are we here? Why is the world here? If masks work, why are we here, we all wear them? What’s that… No shit it’s a sham, it always was. But if they fool you a second time, it’s on you.

You can rebel at other things. I’d even encourage it. You know we mostly agree on the government fucking things up and their inadequacy in solving lots of macro issues sometimes results in making them worse instead.
But keep the masks on ffs. Get the cheap surgical masks, not the cloth ones. They work.
If you don’t trust the CDC, Fauci or the WHO, at least trust us Asians. We’re good at math and shit.

You check out the entire interview and he’s one of the people who wants independence, which would be the most foolish thing in the world for HK because they would be crushed economically after having become so reliant on dealings with China since the Handover in '97.
NO ONE in his right mind wants independence. They just want China to honor the Handover Agreement granting them full autonomy until 2047.
By then, China would have already have liberalized substantially given their current trajectory and they wouldn’t fear all the human rights issues today.
Well, speaking as an opportunistic Brit, I’d quite happily remake Hong Kong on the Isle of Man and take every HK’er who wanted to flee as a refugee.
