The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

I stand by what I say on these towns considering they do exist and the degeneration of them occurred, which millions of Americans experienced and observed. If one doesn’t like my language use, then fine. A man can simply say, “Hey, it’s callous of you to talk like that. There are some good people who are stuck in these places.” To that, I’d think things over, and apologize. Me personally, though I’m an empathic guy, at 41 years old, impersonal, hyperbolic language doesn’t affect me much. If it bothers others, I’ll lay off it.

To tell a man he is ignorant to what he is actually informed on, even on his own and his family’s experiences, is disingenuous though.

With that said I’m taking a break from heavy topics for a few days. This restrictive lockdown living (even with some relaxed measures) and 24-7 media drivel and politicization is getting to me. I’m out. Peace. :v:

I understand and I extend my sympathies. Lockdown can impede ones mental health/wellbeing immensely. I wish you all the best

If you find yourself feeling particuarly down perhaps you can talk to your wife and/or a friend. If all is lost and there is no other perceivable avenue don’t hesitate to send me an email. I’m aware an age discrepancy exists and we don’t see eye to eye on many issues, but sometimes it can help to just ‘vent’.

Go pick up something you like or something you think you can upgrade your career with from Udemy. I went and learned python during lockdown a couple of months ago. Moved on to Django and now picking up Javascript and C#/.NET.

EDIT:

Udemy certifications aren’t worth shit though and it’s your portfolio that’s going to matter most.

Stuff like AWS Cloud Certifications and similar stuff like Microsoft Azure are actually recognized by employers if you are into that shit but you’d also need to know some coding languages like C# and python if you want to change professions.

Looking back, I’d start off with C#(which is basically Java, which I tried to pick up before) instead of python because the syntax is more similar to other languages so you can pick other stuff up much easier and it’s part of the Microsoft ,NET framework and you can get Microsoft certified although python has a very low learning curve in comparison.

If you want to go into full stack web development then it’s JavaScript all the way from frontend to backend but you’d have to know HTML and CSS.

All this is just from experience from working on IT projects managing IT guys. All I know is the lingo and basic stuff to communicate with them and clients. I’m not good at any of it other than Django, You give me detailed specs on what you need for a medium sized project and I’ll only understand 20-30% of it but that’s enough to manage a team of qualified IT guys.

So my point is, from a real world perspective, get REALLY good at, and understand the PRINCIPLES of ONE coding language(not stuff like HTML and CSS) and the rest will be easy to pick up or you can just outsource the shit you don’t know to others.

This shows how disconnected from reality people have become:

“They’re dying breaths are literally ‘find out what’s wrong with me,‘” Doering said. “And when you say it’s COVID, people say, ‘No, that can’t be it.’”

Hell of a Governor up there. If she can resist this pressure to screw with people, she’ll prove herself more manly than just about any male politician.

I can’t believe she’d just let people die like that … gross

Have I told you lately, that I love you?

The first link is a must read for everybody. And most people reckon me a conservative and I am… until it comes to labor itself, then I become a Bernie Sandars liberal. I have long taken the view that corporations, LLC’s or what have you, carry way too much power over the lives of it’s employees. They treat people like every other asset and that’s immoral at best. But when you have a limitless, cheap labor force in China or India, what need does a company have to treat it’s employees with dignity? It’s ripe for neptotism and cronyism.
Yeah, I bitch about the Indian take over at many tech firms, but the fact is, is that the system favors exactly that and I don’t trust corporations to just ‘do the right thing’. They will pick money over people every time. And it creates the circumstances we often find ourselves in, working for a company and living perpetually under the threat of lay-offs that can happen at any moment and are carried out with soulless efficiency. The worker has NO recourse. They are forced to ride the waves in the ocean that these big crony corps make in the Crony Ocean, just south of China.
And it totally makes sense that Indain communities pop-up in the very way we talked about in the other thread. One guy comes here, but he comes from one of a million ‘Code Farms’ in India and is willing to work for $20k less than his American counter parts. Conveniently, most company cultures make discussing salary verboten, even though that is technically illegal. Said immigrant doesn’t care because it’s 3 times what he would make at home. He’s cheaper to have, keep and promote. When he gets promoted, he promises filling positions and needs with cheap labor, either here or there, next thing you know you have an entire community that won’t assimilate and living well. And I don’t begrudge anybody who wants to do that, they are just taking advantage of a system that favors such a thing. Who can blame them?

Well, we were doing better on the part of labor inequity between the far-east and us, but unless Trump hires Aaron Rodgers, the only guy I know that can reliably throw 3 hail-mary’s in a row, things are going to shift quickly back to the shining seas and warm water of the ‘Crony Ocean’ where China makes all our shit and India writes the programs that run the infrastructure. The American people will go back to being just grateful to have an under-paid, incredibly stressful job, complete with the perpetual threat of layoffs looming over the horizon.
I really do wish people voted on policy, but they don’t, so what can I do about it?
You want to see inequity and royally fucked up, depression surpassing economic misery? Wait until they shut down the country for 6-8 weeks, again.
I have always said that our way of life is very fragile and too few appreciated how fragile it is. It took one thing, covid, to sink our battleship. Now we will cling to the bouyee in the ‘Crony Ocean’ hoping for a life vest… And I am an optimist.

644 people have died “from” Covid in the state since March, I guess. She talks like she’s watching multiple people a day die in her hospital alone. Get real, skank.

I wanna make it clear that my reason for posting the article was to show that it is BIG GOVENMENT and over regulation that enables these corporations to obtain this kind of power in the first place and I do NOT have any problem with any corporation getting so big through natural market forces since I don’t think it’s possible in reality.

Look at the link I posted on property prices and see even how real geniuses(no sarcarsm here) in the CCP tried to control property prices from getting out of hand but it only resulted in failure. The full story is even more complicated and has something to do with smaller firms exiting the market and the bigger firms setting prices.

I went to high school right outside of Sioux Falls, SD. Two of the state’s biggest and best hospitals are there. If you’re sick, especially with COVID-19, odds are that you’re going to end up at one of them.

To completely downplay her experience, when it’s entirely possible given the makeup of the state, is disgusting.

I agree. Absolutely disgusting. Can you even imagine how bad COVID-20 is going to be?

Edit:

Just to be sure I’m clear: I completely downplay her supposed experience because I believe she’s making it up.

Probably worse than they’re imagining covid-19 actually is…

I’m waiting for COVID-20.5, personally. I think that’s going to be the big one.

Yes of course, I should have been more clear, it is the interference from the government that makes these things happen. And the chips are being lined up again for massive income disparity with new lock downs coming.
It’s insane to me that people just take it. I intend to defy all of it. All this mask shit and lockdown shit is bullshit. We know it’s bullshit, it’s completely obvious. Why are we having a surge if masks work? Well it’s because they obviously don’t. And if lock downs worked, why would we be going through it again? The emperor has no clothes in the truest sense.
We know it’s insane, we see it’s bullshit and people just give up their liberties with a smile on their face and a grateful elbow bump. I am fighting the best way I can. I write congress, I defy. Nobody I know writes congress, why? How do you expect them to know what is going on if you don’t tell them.
They are talking about a great global reset!? WTF? Trudeau is fully on board. This is not just happening here, this is a world wide lurch to authoritarianism and people are happy about it!
Who profits? Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc. The rich get richer and we beg the government for a stimulus. Who wins? The filthy rich. Who loses? All of us.
Like they say in Star Wars episode 1, “Democracy dies to raucous applause.”

Good job. Not only did you figure out who she has seen die from it you also figured she must be a “skank.”

I’m telling you if you ever want to get out the basement and meet a girl you’re going to need to change.

Whoa!

Trust scientology, bro!

Because you’re not wearing a mask. You are a super spreader.

False. Why do surgeons wear masks when doing open heart surgery? Because they work. Why do kids wear masks when Trick-or-Treating? Because they work.

We didn’t do it right, bruh. You gotta do that shit like the countries that have eliminated COVID(basically, the rest of the world).
