Some of the CHAZ video I saw reminded me of Bonarroo, but without the large open mud pits.
The garden in particular appears to be tended by people on psychedelics.
I don’t understand that either. I feel like that has to be fake, or a joke. They have normal access to food just like anyone else so I don’t know why they are doing that, and in such a bootleg manner lol.
To @Uncle_Gabby’s point, if you want to be around that kind of stuff, great. That’s why you go to a place like Bonnaroo, to play hippy commune for a weekend and mill about harmlessly while you’re drunk and/or on drugs, or try to solve simple problems in a group with other people on psychedelics. Although from what I understand, it is no longer the cop-free haven it was the last time I went, which was 2004.
That all changes when you decide to set up Bonarroo in my neighborhood without asking me about it.
I believe you and it is nice to have someone actually there when the place is apparently painted way differently than it actually is.
And yet again we have this weird juxtaposition of people who have spent forever talking about less government and a nanny state immediately demanding the government step in and fix people saying they don’t need the government to do these certain things.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t find the whole thing fairly stupid myself. We’ve also done this to ourselves as we made moderate a dirty word and bipartisanship is something to attack your representative on.

He was a racist and elitist, he was born in the 19th century, but that is well known. The issue is being able to accept that he wasn’t perfect while also recognizing that in spite of his faults, he did accomplish great things. Who could possibly pass these protesters’ purity tests?

I can’t speak for your part of the world but in the USA it started when we put students’ emotional growth ahead of their intellectual growth. We are starting to see the effects of the participation trophy mentality when it meets the real world.

Precisely. There isn’t a statue of him because his record is spotless (if he had died in 1930, his record would be abysmal) there is a statue of him because of his finest achievement.

White people cannot. No matter how woke they are, no matter what they say or do, they’re racist, even if they do not know it. One the other hand, the accusers do not have to pass such tests.
Depressingly, authors such as DiAngelo and Kendi (the latter claimed that white people are literal aliens) who argue that all white people are racists by default are gaining more and more traction.

I think it’s the result of not having real journalists anymore. People who get into journalism are just a bunch of my truth babies who want to control the narrative. They’re basically social media influencers pretending to be journalists. It’s the same with the clickbait headlines.
