Meh some of that I wouldn’t be opposed to, some of that I would be very much opposed to, and some of it I would need to know exactly what was meant by it. I’ll still say that we could use a massive overhaul of our criminal justice system. Question why we are the land of free but have more prisoners than any other country. I don’t think we should abolish police by any means but I’m not sure why it seems in some of these situations police have equipment that seems like it should belong to the military. Which we clearly can’t spend enough on either.
And yet the “mmm more police, more military” people get pissed off about funding education or healthcare. Different priorities than me I realize, but odd still. And odd in a time when some cheered the idea not long ago of people standing up against the jackbooted government thugs overreach during a pandemic are now cheering on those same jackbooted government thugs no matter what they do? Because this is apparently a protest they don’t like nearly as much?

If you disband the police then you wouldn’t need courts, at least criminal courts, since no one could be arrested and brought to trial. Basically, you wouldn’t have a criminal justice system so technically, you wouldn’t have criminals. I think they found the secret to eliminating crime.

I’m not defending burning or looting at all. I’ll be honest I haven’t fully followed closely as I’ve been busy at work. Cops have only responded with aggression at people burning and looting solely? I would find that hard to believe with the amount of protests that have gone on.
It’s just a weird about face. Maybe more of a continued commentary about how people will oppose/support almost anything the government does to any level as long as they agree with it perhaps?

You posted an absurd statement and got called on it. There is nothing strange about the people that opposed a forced economic shutdown a while back also supporting the use of government force to quell riots.
These people protested because they thought the government was using its power to do something they didn’t like. It wasn’t just about saving the economy like they were some crusaders. They refused to wear gloves or masks in a recruiting video as they said it would detract from the movement.
Again have the police only targeted people who were rioting? They haven’t done anything that could be seen as an infringement of the rights of peaceful protestors? Not at a single one of these? Not any instances? Has every single person protesting been rioting and looting the whole time? So me who hasn’t been following this closely in a two second google search can find police clubbing a guy on a bike (not looting or rioting that I can see) and shoving an old man to the ground (not looting or rioting that I can see) and it’s all fine. You’re staunchly anti-government but this is no big deal apparently?
Like I said I’m not for rioting or looting at all. Not defending that in the least bit. But the very people who were saying the government was going too far a few weeks ago are now all about the government reacting violently in a different situation of people saying the government has went too far. I’m also not for people walking into capital buildings armed to the teeth either.
