I think the ramifications of that are dicey even though I’m not sure I disagree. For instance if I’m using racial slurs, etc I believe that is different from being fired for saying it’s Tuesday.
When someone is fired for saying it’s Tuesday we need to understand what that is putting that person through. If I’m the primary breadwinner with three kids now I’m unemployed, we don’t have health insurance, etc. who knows how long it will take me to find a new job, wait for new health insurance, etc.
Yes that happens in both scenarios however one seems much more in control than the other. Unless you have some type of affliction like the President where you can’t possibly control what you say.

They’re nerds(and Graham is definitely weird…and I can’t stand him and his foreign policy views), but I’m not sure how much policy they propose or support that is progressive.
Some people don’t understand the concept of a fully functioning society. You can’t have that if people can do whatever they want. People want all of the benefits of living in a free nation without having to sacrifice anything for it.

I’m not saying I think it’s morally and ethically right for them to fire someone over anything. I just don’t think the government should have any say in the matter. I would hope in the long run an employer would suffer the consequences of a toxic environment created by unjustified firings although the cultural insanity that seemingly pervades nowadays might no longer make that a reality in many places.
