Sounds like they could use some freedom!

Gotta get some DEA in there and sprinkle some crack, tip off NYT about potential WMDs and let them run with … maybe shoot down a drone or two and BOOM automatic freedom

How celebs earning millions really behave when their careers are at stake.

Might be more than her career.

I doubt it. It’s 2019.

Yes, that’s the new dystopian authoritarianism of the 21st century spearheaded by China and to a lesser extent Russia. Why kill someone when you can disconnect their internet and inflict a myriad of technology based punishments that will make one a social pariah?

Russians still love to go old school, though.

Exactly. There are so many ways to make people yield today now that they have a lot more to lose. You kill someone or send him to a labor camp and it makes international news, investors pull out and you look like a villain to the public. They only do that to people like muslims since they can easily claim they are terrorists.

They don’t need to do that for actors and actresses.

Every film and TV production company in China is partly owned by the CCP. Every TV station is partly owned by the CCP. To make a profit for a Hong Kong movie that’s not a low budget indie film, or a Hong Kong produced television series, you need the China market because the population of Hong Kong is too small. She will just be boycotted by everyone and will never be employed again in Hong Kong or China again.

They did this to one of my favorite actors who starred in one of the greatest exploitation films ever made, The Ebola Syndrome, for taking part in the previous large scale protest movement in 2014.

Fucking bastards.

Holy slippery slope Batman. ā€œYour mom chose to drive 56 in a 55 recklessly leading to your unborn siblings death. That’s why she’s in jail honey.ā€

This seems like it belongs on the onion. I’m shocked they aren’t gaining population like crazy.

Will need to see the facts. Like:

  1. How close to the Florida line in Alabama was this? This story sounds really Florida.
  2. Did the ā€œinstigatingā€ pregnant mother use sufficient force to warrant the other lady using deadly force in return (weapons, strangulation, blunt force). If so the manslaughter charge could stick on the mother.

Yeah I don’t know any of the facts. I still think it’s a really dangerous thing to go down.

But if we’re going to say you have a responsibility to protect your baby can’t we say that about anything? Driving a mile over the speed limit? Refusing to take prenatal vitamins may have lead to a still birth? Etc.

I can’t think the woman set out to get shot even if her actions lead on her getting shot? If my wife goes to a party and someone is smoking indoors in another room is she doing everything she can to protect our baby?

Yeah, not in any way shape or form the same. Disappointment

Tell me about it. It is the thing I miss most when abroad or dieting.

I look at it more from the precedent of if you cause a lethal force situation, you are responsible for whatever happens.

How many times have we seen where a suspect starts a gunfight with cops, cops miss suspect and hit other people? Then the DA tries to pin some or all of that on the suspect.

Same thing with suspects starting a high speed chase with cops. If other people are hurt in the chase, the suspect can be charged. Even if they didn’t maim or kill the bystander directly.

That’s the precedent the DA will pull from. The precedent of shooting a pregnant woman and killing the baby being a homicide/manslaughter is pretty well established.
