Nah, they’ll just become another Singapore when it comes to freedom of speech and the right to protest over the long run. The real issue here is the preservation of their national identity and culture. No one’s going to leave.
Why many Chinese citizens hate The West, and very stupid socialists in The West buy into propaganda spread by commies:
Here’s an example:
This is what the CCP wants people to believe the protests are about.
“HK parents march against US meddling”
LMAO!!!

I mean you have to laugh at it because it’s so scary and what the fuck? I like the woman who said you can’t say he wasn’t an effective manager. It’s like a group of slaves constantly being whipped saying “well you can’t say this guy is just phoning in the job.”
Slaves anywhere in history were treated better than Russian subjects under communism. A slave owner would never deliberately starve a huge portion of his workforce/assets to death.
What is it with the cult of Stalin @loppar? I guess there’s nothing to compare it to in the US since nearly half the country dislikes any of our leaders from day 1.
That’s just great management skills. No one complains when they are dead.
Novosibirsk is the third largest city in Russia. You wouldn’t judge all of the USA by an event in Chicago attended by a few dozen people.
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation is controlled opposition. Putin keeps them around because having an opposition helps elections look more legitimate and because the crazy things they say and do make ordinary Russians more aware of how much worse it could get than Putin.
There’s a massive effort by Putin to establish the cult of Stalin in modern day Russia. And it’s working.
New monuments are being erected and historians who dare investigate Stalin’s crimes are being locked up in mental institutions.
Stalin is perceived as having restored the Russian Empire under a new name, after a naive flirt with international communism under Lenin. Also, he exterminated many of those pesky minorities who disliked Russian rule, and almost “solved” the Jewish problem had he not suffered a stroke and died.
Sure, ethnic Russians died as well but they had it coming, according to many Russians.
Lots imbeciles outside of Russia are going to watch this and go around saying “Don’t believe the evil capitalist, anti-socialist propaganda! The people love Stalin there! The US won’t just allow successful socialist countries to thrive!”
Um… nah I got nothing. That’s terrifying. “He’s the greatest leader Russia ever had.” Wow.
China? Kind of. They have markets sort of and exert control with implied police-state action. The state doesn’t have to own or manage the means of production if they own you. Kind of like fascism.
As long as you leave any talk of individual liberties out of the equation then you could try and make the case that China is “successful”.
You would think, but the history of slavery disagrees.
I would call them a State Capitalist country, with the State using socialist ideology for internal governance, propaganda and early “civic and moral education”. Socialist, as in, with it’s roots in Marxism and it’s applied variations. Xi Jinping is a known marxist. Why it’s so similar to facism is because it’s hard to differentiate the Left and Right once they reach the extreme ends of the spectrum. It’s why in every zep thread, I specifically state that my problem isn’t just with socialism, it’s with big government. Your fate eventually hangs on whether your dictator is benign or a tyrant.
To be fair, it is currently not a bad place to live in if you don’t care for freedom of speech and can tolerate living under a host of archaic laws that the average person won’t normally break. As long as you are not POOR or even lower middle class. Or live in the rural areas.
As you know, I am confident enough to operate part of my business there, and I also have property there. I daresay the average person there has more freedom than a developed Asian country such as Singapore. Youtube personalities like Ben Shapiro are talking out of their asses when they compare them. China people normally go there and the first thing they ask is, “Why are the people here so afraid of the law?”.
However, let’s see what happens when the economy hits a downturn and the current political system is put to the test. We know the CCP has already set it up so they can do whatever they fucking want. I figure that’s when people will understand why you never give the government that kind of power.
You’d figure…but then you’d still be wrong. A lot of people won’t get it even then, except the poor souls suffering in the CCP
Lol
Well they didn’t learn with however many 10s of millions of their countrymen died. Why would they learn the next time? Just shows the absolute power of controlling all the information, and thus the narrative.
Have you watched Chernobyl? In the 1st episode, there’s a scene in a meeting room where the top brass gathers to discuss steps to handle the situation. The dynamics of the exchanges between the ranks were very accurately depicted. Then the old dude gives a speech that was essentially saying the public don’t know what’s good for themselves and everyone claps. This is their thought process.
It doesn’t matter what history says. They’ve been the ones controlling the flow of information to the public all this time. They know how people can be led to believe bullshit. There’s no way they’ll ever believe the public can the right decisions for themselves when there’s a change of the system to a democratic one.
This brawl at a baseball game at this level? By a 13 year old ump? Who’s running our game of Sim City America and can you please tell them to delete our countries save file and start over for me?
