Fwiw, my mom has worked in the daycare/school industry my entire life. I was being sarcastic about the public response thing. Father daughter dance have been taking shots your entire life, whether or not you care/know.
But yeah. Dad’s are under assault. God forbid they dance with women around. THE HORROR.

Minority rule and government intervention are not market forces, lol. Market forces require majority action. You know, Blockbuster no longer in business due to Redbox. Redbox struggling because Netflix. Netflix competing with Hulu, Amazon, etc. that’s the market.
Not, Blockbuster out of business because they only had 1 copy of the new Ghostbusters, while they had 12 copies of the original.

Maybe … but on the flip side the girls WITH fathers are also being left out of a father/daughter dance, and boys with either or both parents can’t participate … I also am unsure if girls w/o fathers can still show up and dance with their friends’ dads … all in all I’m failing to see the justice in this as it is

If this mom has an issue with the father/daughter dance, I’d assume she wants it abolished or replaced with something more “inclusive” … now this event that the daughter and father presumably looked forward to no longer exists and is replaced with something that has different dynamics and connotations.
It’s the destruction of a tradition some people enjoyed … instead of someone who felt left out or excluded beginning their own competing or independent event, they have to destroy (presumably) the existing event/tradition for the sake of it being exclusionary.
General question: is it a goal to ensure that everyone is included 100% of the time? Can we just be fine sitting something out so it’s special for a group? @pfury

Who determines reason? The reason for father/daughter dances is because it’s special for fathers, and daughters want to maintain control of their fathers. It’s 3.5 minutes of a ‘bastards’ (a fitting word that is considered offensive today) childhood.

These events sell tickets and generally are cost neutral … PTAs generally cater them…also this wasn’t a school event like we originally thought, but still

Society has nothing to do with this . .it’s a community organization not a society at large thing … not everything needs to elevated to the level you seem to be implying here.
