There’s an actual ratio? What can’t science do these days?

I note from Jim Wendlers log that he’s working up to a real max on the singles day.

Need to think about that…

See sfp - you’ve reduced skid to posting only pictures now…

I’m not sulking…

I’m not.

I just don’t have anything to say.

As long as he’s not reduced to posting vids of him doing ‘training log interpretive dance’, I think we’re OK…

Now you’re giving him ideas - look out below…

It’s the power.

The power of AWESOMENESS.

Aw, you’re right Soldog. Skid has me in juvie probation, based on my sense of humor, so I’ll just suck it up and let him get back to amazing us with feats of physical facility.

Word out on the other posts, is that there’s some fine all-natural glute/ham raise videos here. But when I arrived all I found was that DAM YOUTUBE CRAP!!! (which I can’t get to)

The new picture looks good, but don’t forget, legs need sun too…oh yeah, nice training.

I’m just jealous and wish I was as AWESOMELY funny as you.

Guess I’ll have to settle for being blonde.

okay - grey blonde. Or blonde-grey. Gettin’ hard to tell.

No video of the RGH’s. Unless you dig watching skinny, 47-year old men voluntarily face plant into a ratty blue gymnastics mat. In which case I’ll put one up fer ya.

I have to hold on to the band, you see…

I had a pincher-bug in my drawers once. Does that count?

Whenever wee Jimmy gets asked about taking a 1RM, he always recommends doing it on 5-3-1 day, no rep max, then going up and hitting something heavy, so as not to prevent you from getting a proper training session in.

I was thinking in terms of periodization, you could hit a 1rm on one lift each wave. so on week 4, do a 1rm on squat, week 8 a 1rm on bench, week 12 a 1rm on DL, hitting rep maxes on the others. i was thinking of doing it this way after my meet. Wee little jimmy says I should stop doing rep maxes 2 weeks out, and just hit the basic numbers, so I’ll give that a test drive…

oh, yeah, i have created the ultimate 12 month 5/3/1 spreadsheet. pm me with an email address and I’ll send it to you for you to test drive!

Why not on each lift in each 5-3-1 wave? The volume is not that high on the main lift in that wave since you’re doing singles at the top set and it’s only on one wave per every 40 days so why not go for it. Hit the 3@ 85%, then a 95% single and then go for broke. If you took 90% of true 1RM as initial working 1RM that has you at 85% of true max when you do the 95% single so there’s lots of room for subsequent singles.

If you didn’t adjust for the first cycle, then still, it a single so why not go for it?

Makes sense. Time between the DL and squat max lifts would be the only consideration for me.
